The Politburo issued Decision No. 222/QD-TW regulating the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Office of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.
The Central Agency of the Vietnam Farmers' Union is a specialized agency of the Vietnam Farmers' Union at the central level, with the function of advising and assisting the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee in implementing the Charter of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and relevant regulations of the Party and State, and is also a specialized and professional agency on the work of the Union and the farmers' movement of the Central Agency of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.
Article 3 of the Decision clearly states the organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union includes: the President and Vice Presidents.
The organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union includes the following departments, units and specialties: Office; Organization - Inspection Department; Propaganda Department; Economic - Social - Environmental Department; Executive Board of the Farmers' Support Fund.
The public service units include the Today's Rural Newspaper; the Farmer Support Center; and the Vietnam Farmers' Union Training and Development School.
The staffing of the Central Office of the Vietnam Farmers' Union shall be considered and decided by the competent authority based on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the agency.
After restructuring and streamlining, the Central Office of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has reduced its apparatus by 7 department-level units (from 15 units to 8 units, equivalent to 46.67%), reduced 6/8 department-level units (equivalent to 75%) and representative office in the South.
Also according to the Politburo's Decision, the Central Office of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has three main tasks: advising on implementation; presiding, coordinating and guiding, inspecting and supervising.
