According to Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), term 2026 - 2031, took place solemnly and successfully. The Congress is a milestone marking the beginning of a new development journey of the Front, with a new position, a new organizational model, and new task requirements.
In the period 2024 - 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has strongly promoted its core political role in consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity, affirming its role and responsibility to the Party, State and People. The Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations have proactively innovated thinking and operating methods, strongly oriented towards grassroots levels and residential areas; promptly grasped and reflected the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the People, created social consensus and consolidated the close blood ties between the Party, State and People;
Proactively participate and effectively contribute to the improvement of institutions, policies, and laws; the process of arranging the organizational structure according to the new model, organizing Party Congresses at all levels; participate in successfully organizing the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. Mobilize the people to participate in the good implementation of campaigns and patriotic emulation movements; provide practical support to people heavily affected by natural disasters and storms, especially the poor, people in particularly difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people.
In the coming time, the Fatherland Front will promote its role as a bridge between the Party, State and people, acting as the core in consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity, deeply grasping the viewpoint "The people are the root", the people are the subject, the center of the renovation, construction and defense of the Fatherland. Continue to comprehensively innovate in organization, content, and methods of operation in a practical and effective direction, strongly towards grassroots levels, close to the people, close to the people, accompanying the people. Strengthen the presiding role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the coordination and unified action of member organizations.
Accordingly, the Congress agreed on directions, goals, 15 specific targets, breakthrough tasks and 7 Action Programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026 - 2031 term.
Program 1: Promote propaganda and mobilization, gather people from all walks of life, strengthen social consensus, and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc.
Program 2: Representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of the people; improving the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism, implementing democracy, actively participating in building the Party, State and political system.
Program 3: Encouraging all classes of people to emulate in studying, working, creating, participating in socio-economic development, preserving and promoting national cultural traditions, caring for people's lives, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland.
Program 4: Participating in science and technology development, innovation, building a digital society; promoting digital transformation in the Vietnam Fatherland Front system.
Program 5: Promoting the role of mastery, the spirit of self-management of the people, building a united, safe, prosperous, and happy residential area.
Program 6: Effectively implementing people-to-people diplomacy and international cooperation activities.
Program 7: Innovating the content and methods of operation; perfecting and operating a streamlined specialized apparatus, operating effectively and efficiently; improving the capacity of the contingent of cadres to meet task requirements.
Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy added that the Congress approved the number: Members of the 11th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 - 2031 including 405 members; Members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front from 72-100 members, Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is 12 members. At the Congress, 397 members were elected to participate in the 11th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 - 2031.
The first Conference of the 11th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held democratic consultations, electing 70 members to participate in the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
