The above information was reported at the conference of the Steering Committee for the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Lang Son province, May 13.
According to the report, the whole province has 1,340 households in need of housing support in the period 2025 - 2026.
To date, 1,339 houses have been started, completed and put into use. Of which, 825 houses have been newly built and 514 houses have been repaired.
The total support fund is more than 66.6 billion VND, mobilized from the state budget and socialized sources.
The process of implementing the campaign is assessed by the province as closely following the "6 clarity" principle: clear people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear authority, clear time and clear results.
In parallel with the removal of temporary houses, Lang Son also promotes the development of social housing with the goal of completing 3,000 units by 2030.
This target has been included in the province's socio-economic development plan. To date, 636 units have been completed, reaching 21.2% of the plan. Delegates said that to achieve this goal, the province needs to have a mechanism to support investors and develop plans that are close to actual needs.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh requested communes and wards to thoroughly and substantively review households that are still facing housing difficulties, and absolutely not to let any subjects escape or arise after summarizing.
Cases of incorrect review, leading to problems due to not being done thoroughly, must be reviewed for responsibility, especially the head," the Provincial Party Committee leader emphasized.
Local authorities are assigned the task of correctly assessing the circumstances, labor capacity and existing assets of each household, especially paying attention to cases of household separation to ensure fairness and avoid policy abuse.
Regarding priorities, resources will be focused first on poor households living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses, then near-poor households. Cases affected by natural disasters will be considered for support based on the actual level of damage.
In the context that state funding is still limited compared to demand, provincial leaders requested to continue to promote socialization.
For social housing projects, functional agencies need to carefully assess people's needs, avoiding the situation of spreading investment or building beyond actual usage needs.
