On December 29, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, according to statistics, the whole province has 1,116 households affected by natural disasters. Among them, 83 houses completely collapsed; 366 houses had to be urgently relocated to build new houses; 58 houses were heavily damaged and 609 houses had their roofs blown off or damaged over 30% of the area. Localities have implemented support in accordance with regulations, without overlapping with previous programs.
To date, 1,115 units have been started, reaching 99.9%. Of these, 818 units have been completed and are being urgently handed over so that people can celebrate Tet in time at their new homes. Only one household due to family matters will start construction in early January 2026, ensuring completion on schedule throughout the province.

To achieve the above progress, Lao Cai mobilized all forces at the grassroots level such as the army, police, militia, unions, along with the joint efforts of organizations, businesses and the residential community. Localities are required to prioritize starting construction immediately when households meet the conditions; cases where there is no land or are not ready will be supported to be completed in 2026.
At the same time, resources are allocated flexibly and for the right purpose. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has allocated more than 45 billion VND to localities to support according to the construction progress. The province allocated an additional 610 million VND from the budget to support roofed and damaged houses. Thien Tam Fund also contributed more than 3 billion VND to 82 houses damaged by storm No. 10.
In the process of implementation, some particularly difficult households need more personnel to support construction; or build small-scale houses themselves that do not meet technical requirements. Localities continue to guide and reinforce to ensure long-term safety and increase disaster resilience.

Lao Cai province is continuing to closely monitor progress, inspect, supervise quality and publicize the use of funds.
Housing support not only ensures safe accommodation for people, but is also an important preparation step to help limit damage in the rainy and storm season in the coming years. Lao Cai is determined to complete the goal so that every family has a solid home and welcomes a peaceful new year.
