On March 2nd, Ms. Nguyen Quynh Lien - Head of the Democracy, Supervision and Social Criticism Committee; Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Deputy Chairman of the Democracy - Law Advisory Council and 4 candidates from constituency No. 7, An Giang province (candidates for the 16th National Assembly) had a meeting with voters in Dong Hoa commune.
At the conference, the Organizing Committee announced information about the biographies of candidates for the 16th National Assembly deputies belonging to constituency No. 7.
After listening to a brief introduction to the biography of the candidate, the candidates in turn presented their draft Action Program if elected as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, term 2026-2031 and listened to the opinions and recommendations of voters.
At the working session, Ms. Nguyen Quynh Lien expressed her honor and also great responsibility to voters and people of An Giang province and Dong Hoa commune.
Ms. Lien said that An Giang province, after being reorganized from Kien Giang and An Giang, has risen to become an important economic center, leading the Mekong Delta region with a striving growth target of 10% or more. With the orientation of becoming a border economic center and high-tech agriculture, strongly developing the marine economy, promoting processing industry...

Returning to Dong Hoa today, a new commune arranged from two communes Dong Hoa and Dong Thanh of An Minh district before - a peaceful but strongly transforming countryside, Ms. Lien feels a close bond with this "Miet Thu" land rich in revolutionary traditions.
I am particularly impressed with the organic "rice-carrying shrimp" agricultural production model of the commune. The creativity in intensive crop rotation, combining aquaculture and clean rice cultivation, not only creates high-value products favored by the market but also helps people have regular and stable incomes. In addition, thanks to the new rural program and poverty reduction, the "electricity, roads, schools, stations" system and the bridge and sewer network in the commune have become increasingly complete, helping to facilitate trade and improve people's lives. 100% of children go to school, health and insurance are thoroughly cared for so that no one is left behind," Ms. Lien shared.
However, through practical research, I am still concerned when I see that Dong Hoa commune still has certain difficulties. The poverty rate is still over 2%, the risk of re-poverty is still present. The traffic bridge system connecting canals needs to be invested more; "shrimp - rice" products, although good, still lack a strong brand to enhance value. In particular, climate change and saltwater intrusion are direct challenges to the sustainable livelihoods of people.
Understanding those things, Ms. Lien clearly sees the responsibility of a National Assembly deputy before voters and the People, requiring herself to continue to make more efforts to fully understand the requirements being raised from the reality of Dong Hoa commune as well as the entire An Giang province. On that basis, there is a direction to strive and contribute to the common development of the province and the commune.
Ms. Lien also mentioned some key solutions if trusted by voters to be elected as a National Assembly Deputy of the 16th term, such as focusing on building a legal corridor and sustainable development policies. It will be proposed to invest in saltwater - freshwater regulation works at culverts to protect production areas. promote policies on agricultural insurance and preferential loans to make the rice - shrimp model of people more solid against natural disasters.
As a female candidate, Ms. Lien will also strengthen proposals to improve laws on protecting the rights of women and children, vulnerable people, fighting for gender equality, preventing domestic violence and online fraud that are becoming complicated.
Deeply and actively participate in social security and legal aid work. Ms. Lien is committed to always being close to voters, listening to voters' petitions, reflections, thoughts, and aspirations at all times and in all places, and promptly transferring them to competent central and local agencies, becoming a positive bridge between voters and the Party, State, and authorities at all levels.
Strengthen supervision for the benefit of the people; always be close to the people, be close to the people, and all actions take the interests of the people as the center.
