On the afternoon of January 13, the inspection and supervision delegation on the election of National Assembly Deputies of the XVI term, delegates of People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Election Council had a working session with the Election Committee of Hon Dat commune, An Giang province.
The delegation is headed by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, Member of the National Election Council, Head of the Information and Propaganda Sub-committee directly under the National Election Council.
According to Ms. Pham Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of Hon Dat Commune People's Committee, Chairwoman of the Commune Election Committee, in the past time, the Party Committee and Commune People's Committee seriously disseminated to the contingent of cadres, civil servants and non-specialized workers to fully participate in training conferences related to election work. Promote widespread propaganda among the people through many forms, ensuring election information, voters' responsibilities and other legal regulations related to election work.
Along with that, the Commune Election Committee pays attention to directing functional forces to proactively grasp information and people's aspirations, avoid complaints, and strengthen the work of ensuring security and order in the locality in the period before, during and after the election. By December 2025, the commune has consolidated the Election Steering Committee, the Commune Election Committee and established sub-committees to serve election preparation work.
Through the first consultation conference, Hon Dat commune introduced 46 candidates to elect 26 representatives of the Commune People's Council. The whole commune currently has 45,252 voters, the Commune Election Committee organized 9 electoral units with 33 polling units, creating the most favorable conditions for voters to come to the polling units.
On behalf of the supervision and inspection delegation, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai acknowledged and highly appreciated the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels of Hon Dat commune. The implementation of the commune basically closely followed the guiding documents of the Central Government and the province.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly reminded the locality that the time from now until the election day is not much left, so Hon Dat commune needs to focus on directing and strengthening inspection and urging work, ensuring the implementation and completion of work contents according to the prescribed time milestones; focus on effectively implementing the work of receiving and resolving complaints and denunciations, ensuring local security and order.
Information and propaganda work must be regular and continuous in many forms closely related; in which, focusing on informing voters in remote and isolated areas, ethnic minority areas, voters doing specific jobs such as fishing, ensuring that voters understand and fulfill their voting obligations according to the law.
In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to arranging convenient and safe polling stations for people; organizing elections to ensure compliance with regulations, success, thrift, and create joy and excitement among the people.
