On August 30, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Hung Ward and Tan My Ward (HCMC) launched the Social Security Center. This is a model to promptly care for those in difficult circumstances and disadvantaged people in the area, and at the same time celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Hanh Tu, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Hung Ward (Director of the Social Security Center), affirmed that social security work is always an important task that the ward pays special attention to. The establishment of the Center is an important step forward, affirming the motto "using people's strength to care for the people", while promoting the strength of businesses and individuals in supporting the community.
"The Center will strive to mobilize resources to support 153 near-poor households, disadvantaged households, and disadvantaged people in the area," said Ms. Hanh Tu.

Up to the launch, Tan Hung Ward Social Security Center has received significant contributions from benefactors and businesses with a total amount of more than 1.3 billion VND and many valuable artifacts.

Mr. Khau Thien Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Hung Ward, said that the Center will have 7 volunteer teams with specific tasks, from healthcare, supporting young people, workers to humanitarian blood donation, to serve the people comprehensively. In particular, the Center has also mobilized a doctor and an ambulance to be ready to pick up and drop off patients for free when requested by the people.
In Tan My ward, the Social Security Center is located in the Ward Public Administration Service Center (No. 4, Road No. 4, Tan My ward).

According to Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Ha, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan My Ward, the Social Security Center will be the focal point for receiving, managing and coordinating social security resources. In particular, the center will quickly handle emergency situations such as natural disasters, epidemics, and accidents; at the same time, provide long-term care for disadvantaged people, orphans and young people in difficult circumstances.

At the launching ceremony, Ms. Trinh Thi Hon (73 years old, living in Tan My ward), a single household, was moved when receiving a gift from the Center. She expressed her peace of mind when she knew "any urgent difficulties, could come here for support".
On this occasion, the Tan My Ward Social Security Center presented 50 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to near-poor households in the area. This model is expected to become a place to connect the strength of the entire political system, organizations and people, joining hands to build sustainable social security work.
