simultaneously renovating 16 degraded alleys
Ban Co Ward People's Committee has started the simultaneous renovation of 16 alleys. According to Mr. Huynh Gia Giang, Chairman of Ban Co Ward People's Committee, these projects aim to upgrade transport infrastructure, contribute to urban beautification and improve the quality of life for people. The alleys, once completed, will help connect many routes, reducing traffic congestion during rush hour.
The renovated alleys include: Alley 188 Vo Van Tan, Alley 382 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Alley 2 Cao Thang and Alley 263 Nguyen Dinh Chieu. The total length of these alleys is more than 642m with an investment of nearly 3 billion VND. Alley 543 Nguyen Dinh Chieu and alley 109 Nguyen Thien Thuat have a total length of more than 441m, with a total investment of more than 3 billion VND.
Mr. To Ngoc Xuong, a resident of Ban Co ward, expressed his joy when the local government implemented the renovation. Mr. Xuong said that in the past, the alley surface was bumpy, causing noise and making it difficult to travel.
"This alley is often damaged, and every time a car passes by, we call for help. Now, it is necessary to renovate and make people's traffic more convenient," said Mr. Xuong. He added that these alleys often connect to major roads. Therefore, during rush hour, when major roads are blocked, people flock to alleys to circulate, causing overload.
The renovation of alleys not only helps people travel conveniently, but also contributes to reducing traffic congestion on main roads.
"The road surface is flat, clean, and no longer has stagnant water. Everyone here is excited because they see the government's attention and improving the alley," he shared.
The construction and renovation of alleys is expected to last 3 months, and the ward government is committed to urging the progress to complete it soon, avoiding affecting people's lives.

During the peak emulation period to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, Phu Thuan ward also held a groundbreaking ceremony to expand alley 1549 and inaugurate two alleys 1225 and 803/58 on Huynh Tan Phat street.

The project to upgrade and expand alley 803/58 Huynh Tan Phat is 100m long, 4m wide, with a total investment of nearly 4.5 billion VND.
For alley 1549 Huynh Tan Phat, the ward has handed over the site to the construction unit. This alley is 147m long, 4m wide and has a total investment of nearly 11.3 billion VND. In addition to infrastructure works, Phu Thuan ward also launched a general environmental cleaning campaign, increased patrols, inspections, and penalties for violations of roadway and sidewalk order, in order to create a clean and safe living space for people.
