According to initial information, at around 12:30 on August 30, a major fire broke out at a car and motorbike parking lot at the foot of Vinh Tuy Bridge (Hanoi).
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Que Anh (Long Bien Ward) said that at around 1:00 p.m., her family started to go up Vinh Tuy Bridge towards the city center. Coming to the middle of the bridge, she witnessed a column of smoke covering the foot of Vinh Tuy bridge.
"The thick black smoke covers the entire area, forcing my family to change the travel route, not turning right into the Nguyen Khoi dike as originally planned" - Ms. Que Anh said.
Mr. Hao, who lives near the scene, said that there were many cars and motorbikes inside the area. At the time of the fire, the fire flared up fiercely.
"At around 1:30 p.m., the black smoke had decreased significantly when the authorities arrived at the scene and put out the fire, controlling the fire" - Mr. Hao said.
After receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force to the scene to approach and put out the fire.
Currently, fire fighting work is being actively implemented.
