On the afternoon of March 2nd, in Yen Binh commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province organized a meeting with voters with candidates for the 17th Lao Cai Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031, belonging to constituency No. 2. The conference was connected online to Thac Ba, Bao Ai, Cam Nhan, Yen Thanh communes, attracting more than 700 voters to attend.
Voting unit No. 2 has 7 candidates including: Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Yen Thanh Joint Stock Company; Mr. Do Van Dong - Deputy Head of Construction - Natural Resources and Environment Department, Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Minh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Yen Binh Commune People's Council; Mr. Duong Truong Giang - worker of Yen Thanh Joint Stock Company; Ms. Hoang Thi Lan Huong - Deputy Head of the Culture - Society Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Cao Hoang Minh - Deputy Head of the Party Building Committee, Yen Binh Commune Party Committee.
At the conference, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province introduced a summary biography of the candidates. In a spirit of responsibility to voters, each candidate presented an action program with many specific solutions to promote socio-economic development, especially paying attention to ethnic minority areas.
Action programs focus on key tasks such as: investing in completing transport infrastructure, developing tourism, ensuring national defense and security; improving the quality of education and health; effectively implementing social security policies, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.
In a democratic and open atmosphere, voters expressed their agreement and appreciated the action program of the candidates, believing that the proposed contents are close to the practical needs of the locality. Voters hope that after being elected, the delegates will continue to be close to the grassroots level, strengthen contact, promptly reflect and urge the settlement of legitimate recommendations of the People.
Many opinions also suggested that delegates pay attention to promoting mechanisms and policies to support sustainable agricultural and forestry development; prioritize investment resources in essential infrastructure such as rural transport, electricity, telecommunications, cultural houses; pay attention to planning and developing tourism associated with the potential of Thac Ba Lake area, thereby creating motivation for socio-economic development and improving people's lives.
On behalf of the candidates, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh received the opinions of voters, and affirmed that he would make efforts to implement the action program correctly if trusted to be elected as a delegate of the Provincial People's Council. The focus is on promoting the role of elected representatives, spending time contacting, listening to and urging to promptly resolve the recommendations of the People.
He also said that in his position as head of the Provincial People's Committee, he will focus on directing the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, prioritizing investment in strategic transport infrastructure, attracting investment, developing industry, tourism and digital economy; and at the same time ensuring social security, improving the quality of education and health, especially in ethnic minority areas.
Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that promptly resolving voters' petitions right from the beginning of the term will be a measure of the responsibility of the elected representative, contributing to building a government close to the people, for the people and serving the People better and better.
