On April 18, Mr. Le Thanh Ninh - Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Ninh Hoa ward (Khanh Hoa) said that the unit has coordinated to call on everyone to join hands to rescue the backlog of red pumpkins for a member in difficult circumstances.
That is Mr. Mai Nhuong (born in 1973, residing in Tan Kieu residential group, Ninh Hoa ward) who has participated in charity for many years, but lives alone, with income mainly from freelance labor.
This year is the first time Mr. Nhuong has grown pumpkins on a large scale on an area of 3ha of borrowed land and harvested more than 12 tons. However, prices have dropped sharply, traders have not purchased, causing all agricultural products to be backlogged, facing the risk of losing everything.

Faced with that situation, the Ninh Hoa Ward Red Cross Society launched a call for organizations and individuals to support consumption.
The "rescue" operation was deployed from April 16 at the association headquarters and directly connected with Mr. Nhuong. The support price offered is 5,000 VND/kg (units from 100kg or more) and 6,000 VND/kg (units smaller).
By the morning of April 18, about 4 tons of pumpkins had been consumed. The association hopes to continue to receive cooperation to help Mr. Nhuong sell the rest.
According to the Red Cross Society, this is not only an activity to support agricultural products but also has humanitarian significance in the 2026 Humanitarian Month, spreading the spirit of mutual affection.
In fact, the situation of "bumper crop, price drop" still recurs in many places because farmers depend on traders and lack stable consumption channels. Such support activities help reduce immediate difficulties and add motivation for people to continue production.
