On the evening of January 29, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province organized the program "Gratitude to the Lam River - Binh Ngo Spring 2026".
Attending were Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Supreme People's Procuracy and the Central working delegation; along with leaders of Nghe An province and representatives of departments, agencies, branches, localities, businesses, philanthropists inside and outside the province.
Speaking at the program, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai said that the "Lam River Affection - Binh Ngo Spring 2026" program is a meaningful social security activity, continuing the tradition of solidarity, kindness, and affection of Nghe people.
According to provincial leaders, in 2025, Nghe An continuously suffered 3 major storms, causing heavy damage to property and infrastructure, estimated at nearly 9,000 billion VND, strongly affecting the lives and livelihoods of people, especially poor, near-poor, and vulnerable households.

Along with disaster recovery work, the province also deploys the arrangement of organizational structure, administrative units and local authorities at 2 levels; and at the same time organizes Party Congresses at all levels. In terms of socio-economics, the province reported growth of 8.44%; budget revenue of over 29,200 billion VND; completing the removal of 20,802 temporary and dilapidated houses.
After 12 years under the name "Tet for the Poor", from Spring At Ty 2025, the program changed its name to "Nghia tinh dong Lam". Over 13 years, the total mobilized resources are over 1,000 billion VND. Specifically for the 2025 At Ty Tet, the whole province mobilized over 150 billion VND to support more than 120,000 poor households, near-poor households and vulnerable groups; and received nearly 583 billion VND in support for disaster recovery.
Provincial leaders said that Nghe An still has more than 80,000 poor and near-poor households; over 13,000 Agent Orange victims; nearly 9,000 orphans and many particularly difficult circumstances in need of support. The province is committed to receiving, managing, and using resources publicly, transparently, to the right people, promptly, and effectively.
According to the organizers, as of 9:30 PM on January 29, 2026, 400 agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists registered to support the "Nghĩa tình dòng Lam - Xuân Bính Ngọ 2026" Program with a total amount of 172,098,004,777 VND.
