On January 29, leaders of the West Lake Management Board (under Tay Ho Ward People's Committee, Hanoi) had information related to the plan to expand roads around West Lake.
Mr. Tran Hieu, Deputy Head of the West Lake Management Board, said that the Hanoi City People's Council has preliminarily approved the investment policy for the investment project to renovate and promote the value of the West Lake area and the scenic traffic route along the lake.
This project is invested in the PPP public-private partnership method, a build-transfer (BT) contract type.
According to Mr. Hieu, during the project implementation, functional agencies will study using a plan that does not take into people's houses and does not require site clearance, and does not affect or disrupt people's lives.
The renovation and expansion of the road also does not fill or reduce the water surface area of West Lake.

Road sections through the current flower garden area will be expanded to ensure 7m of road on each side and 5m of sidewalk on the lake side to preserve the flower garden to the maximum, limiting the impact on the landscape of the area.
