Lao Cai voters propose a series of hot issues to 16th National Assembly candidates

Lao Cai - More than 2,900 voters attending the conference met with candidates for the 16th National Assembly, raising many recommendations on staffing and healthcare in mountainous areas.

On March 4, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province (MTTQ) organized a meeting with voters and candidates for the 16th National Assembly at Constituency No. 4.

The conference was held directly in Bao Thang commune and connected online to Sa Pa ward and Ban Ho, Muong Bo, Ngu Chi Son, Ta Van, Ta Phin, Gia Phu, Phong Hai, Tang Loong, Xuan Quang, Phuc Khanh, Thuong Ha, Bao Ha, Nghia Do, Xuan Hoa communes, attracting more than 2,900 voters to attend at bridge points.

At the conference, voters were introduced to a summary biography of the 16th National Assembly delegate candidates.

Candidates present action programs if trusted and elected, focusing on perfecting the development mechanism of mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas; consolidating the great national unity bloc; promoting the role of women and youth in mountainous areas; participating in deciding sustainable development policies, ensuring social security; strengthening supervision of issues of concern to voters.

Speaking at the conference, voters proposed many practical contents such as: staff quotas and appropriate remuneration mechanisms when implementing the two-level local government model; solutions to prevent high-tech crime; strengthening environmental control in industrial parks.

Voters also proposed paying attention to special mechanisms for commune health workers, especially in mountainous areas when the force is still thin; researching the establishment of tourism vocational training facilities to solve human resource shortages, create jobs, and increase income for local people.

On behalf of the candidates, Ms. Giang Thi Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province - received the opinions, and at the same time exchanged and clarified issues of concern to voters. Contents under local authority will be directed by the province to functional agencies to consider and resolve according to regulations.
