Tomorrow (March 15), voters nationwide will participate in the election of National Assembly (NA) deputies of the 16th term and People's Council (PC) deputies at all levels for the term 2026 - 2031.
Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Deputy Affairs, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Election Council Office Ta Thi Yen said that the preparation for the election day has been proactively and synchronously and closely deployed by the National Election Council, central and local agencies, basically completed, ensuring according to the legal progress, ready for the election day.
According to the provisions of Article 71 of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Councils, voting must be conducted continuously on election day. In case of unexpected events disrupting the voting session, the Election Team must immediately seal the ballot boxes and documents directly related to the election. At the same time, they must promptly report to the Election Commission to have necessary measures to ensure that voting continues.
In case voting is postponed for special reasons, the Election Team must promptly report to the Election Commission to request the Election Committee of National Assembly Deputies and Provincial People's Council Deputies to submit to the National Election Council for consideration and decision.
For cases where emergency situations of natural disasters and fires occur in the area, causing terrain to be divided and voters unable to go to the polling area, the Election Commissions at all levels direct the Election Team to find the best plan to have a plan to bring auxiliary ballot boxes and ballots to these voters to receive ballots and carry out the election.
In case the security and order situation is complicated or there is a high risk of security and order problems occurring, the Provincial Election Committee shall immediately report to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly have a plan to ensure safety for the election.
In case the above-mentioned situations have been resolved by local competent authorities but cannot be handled or are beyond their authority, the provincial-level Election Commission shall promptly report to the National Election Council for consideration and decision on the election organization plan in these areas.
