Nghe An - Former Teachers Associations at all levels in the province organize many commemorative activities and visits to people who are workers on War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

Sincerely remembering heroic martyrs

On July 27, information from the Nghe An Provincial Association of Former Teachers said that on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), associations at all levels in the province have organized many practical gratitude activities.

The activities focused on offering incense to commemorate heroic martyrs, visiting policy families, caring for members who are wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs, thereby spreading the morality of "Drinking water, remembering the source", "Gratitude".

In July, former teachers in many localities went to martyrs' cemeteries, memorials and policy families to offer incense and flowers, expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

On the evening of July 26, at Martyrs' Cemetery No. 2, in Xuan Yen hamlet, Dong Hieu commune, the Association of Former Teachers, along with local Party committees, authorities, armed forces, mass organizations and a large number of people attended the candle lighting ceremony to express gratitude to heroic martyrs.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered incense, flowers and lit candles at each grave. The cemetery currently has 110 graves of martyrs whose identities and hometowns have not been identified.

In Thien Nhan commune, the Veterans Association coordinated with the local authorities to organize a gratitude ceremony and offer incense at the martyrs' cemetery on the night of July 25.

In Nhan Hoa commune, the Association of Former Teachers organized visits to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, a relative of a martyr; coordinated to offer incense at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery and the Martyrs' Memorial of the commune.

The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of more than 11,000 cadres, soldiers, volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed in the process of performing international duties in Laos.

One of the highlights of the series of activities is the gratitude program organized by the Khai Son Former Teachers Association, Yen Xuan commune on July 22nd and 23rd.

The branch has met and presented gifts to 3 members who are wounded soldiers; and offered incense at families with Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veteran revolutionaries and relatives of martyrs.

The delegation also offered incense to commemorate Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Song Thao - a son of the homeland whose remains have just been collected and brought back for burial after 48 years of resting on the Southwest battlefield.

Visiting people with meritorious services and sharing community

Along with commemorative activities, many veteran teachers' associations in the province have organized visits and encouragement to members who are wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and families with meritorious services to the revolution.

In Tay Hieu ward, the Association of Former Teachers visited and presented gifts to Ms. Huynh Thi Oanh. Ms. Oanh used to be a Truong Son soldier, after being discharged, she returned to work in the Education sector and used to hold the position of Director of the Thai Hoa Town Continuing Education Center.

In Nghia Hung commune, the Executive Committee of the Former Teachers Association coordinated with branches to go to each family to offer incense, visit and give gifts to members who are wounded soldiers and sick soldiers.

Many associations and branches of former teachers in the province also organized gratitude activities such as visiting members and policy families; offering incense at martyrs' cemeteries, memorials and historical sites.

Activities were implemented in Dien Chau, Dai Dong, Nghia Loc, Anh Son, Dong Loc, Cua Lo, Thanh Vinh, Kim Lien, Nghia Hung, Thien Nhan, Yen Xuan, Vinh Phu, Thai Hoa, Nghi Loc, Quynh Phu and many other localities.

Notably, during the "Uong Nuoc Nho Nguon" Week, the Dong Vinh Former Teachers Association under the Thanh Vinh Ward Former Teachers Association in coordination with the Quan Bau Former Teachers Association under the Vinh Hung Ward Former Teachers Association organized the "Khao Nghia Tinh" program.

At the program, members gave free banh chung and porridge to patients being treated at Vinh General Hospital, facility 2.

According to the Nghe An Provincial Association of Former Teachers, through specific actions, former teachers members continue to preserve and spread the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", contributing to transmitting the tradition of gratitude to future generations.
