In the solemn and respectful atmosphere at Gia Vien Ward Martyrs' Cemetery, delegates offered flowers, incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs - the outstanding children who bravely sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the City Youth Union Nguyen Thi Thuy emphasized that the noble sacrifice of the heroic martyrs has embellished the colors of the national flag, firmly preserved the country; creating a solid foundation for today, Hai Phong - the heroic port city, the land of the cultured East - to constantly innovate and rise up to develop strongly.
In recent years, under the leadership and direction of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, the coordination of departments, agencies, branches, armed forces, Party committees, local authorities and the companionship of agencies, units, and businesses, the work of caring for people with meritorious services, implementing military rear policies and gratitude activities in the city have been deployed regularly and widely with many meaningful and practical actions.

In particular, during the peak period of celebrating the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, Youth Union levels throughout the city mobilized resources of over 2.2 billion VND; organized 130 "Gratitude Meals"; visited and presented 4, 209 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and policy families; provided medical examinations, health consultations and free medicine for more than 10,200 people with meritorious services. In addition, nearly 10,000 turns of union members, youth and officers and soldiers of the armed forces launched campaigns to renovate cemeteries, martyrs' memorial works, restore more than 300 martyrs' portraits and coordinate to support the work of searching for and identifying martyrs who lack information.
Leaders of the City Youth Union expressed infinite gratitude, vowed to continue the heroic tradition, strive to study, train, and dedicate youth to protect revolutionary achievements; determined to build Hai Phong city to become increasingly civilized, modern, and prosperous.

After the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs, delegates laid flowers, offered incense, and lit hundreds of candles and lanterns to express their sincere gratitude and remembrance of the heroic martyrs. The candles of gratitude continue to light up the hearts of every citizen of Hai Phong city, making the glorious historical tradition live forever, adding great spiritual strength for today's young generation to continue to successfully implement the city's development goals in the new era.
Also within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented portraits of martyrs and gifts to policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution in the city.
