On August 25, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a conference to summarize the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the period of 2023 - 2025. The conference was co-chaired by Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and Vice Chairman Tran Anh Tuan.
According to the report, from 2023 to August 12, 2025, the city has completed 100% of the plan, eliminating a total of 12,298 temporary and dilapidated houses. Of which, 7,257 houses were newly built and 5,041 houses were repaired. The program has reached the finish line early, demonstrating the strong direction of the leaders and the consensus of the people.
The beneficiaries include 3 main groups: 2,935 houses for meritorious people and relatives of martyrs; 5,326 houses for poor and near-poor households under the National Target Programs; and 4,037 houses for other disadvantaged households. The program focuses on mountainous communes where many ethnic minorities live.
The total mobilized budget for the program reached more than 705 billion VND. The capital comes from the central budget (more than 323 billion VND), the city budget (more than 245 billion VND) and socialization mobilization (more than 136 billion VND). Notably, Da Nang's support level is higher than the general regulations of the Central Government. Specifically, policy families are supported with 100 million VND/newly built house and 40 million VND/repaired house; poor and near-poor households are supported with 80 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed that this is a program of profound political and social significance, an order from the heart to show gratitude to policy families and people in difficult circumstances. He praised the efforts of all levels, sectors and the cooperation of the whole society.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee has directed units to continue to support to complete the remaining unfinished houses before August 31, 2025, while completing legal documents, ensuring that the program is implemented in accordance with regulations, transparently and effectively.
On this occasion, 30 collectives and 26 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the program were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the City People's Committee.
