More than 82 billion VND has been allocated to localities

News from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ha Tinh province said that storms No. 5 and No. 10, along with widespread flooding and inundation in late October, caused heavy damage to many localities in Ha Tinh.

To help people overcome the damage, Ha Tinh province has launched a fundraising campaign, and at the same time called on agencies, units, businesses, organizations and individuals to donate funds to help people affected by storms and floods.

Ha Tinh's mobilization to overcome storm No. 10 has so far received more than 122 billion VND from the support of 507 organizations, localities, businesses, and philanthropists.

Of which, more than 9.2 billion VND was received in cash; more than 112.8 billion VND was received through accounts. The amount of money registered for support that has not been transferred is 15.3 billion VND.

Currently, the total budget allocated to localities by the Ha Tinh Provincial Relief Fund is 82.4 billion VND. The remaining amount in the account is more than 51.2 billion VND.

Vingroup Corporation's charity fund also coordinated with the Ha Tinh Provincial Relief Fund and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of localities to support 4,637 cases in Ha Tinh with an amount of VND94 billion.

Many agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists also directly went to Ha Tinh to give gifts to people affected by natural disasters with billions of VND.

Currently implementing support to the people

On November 13, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Co Dam commune - said that after storm No. 10, the locality received an allocation of 1.8 billion VND from the Provincial Relief Fund.

To date, the first phase of support has been provided to 85 households with an amount of 500 million VND. The remaining amount will continue to be supported for the remaining several hundred households.

According to Ms. Trang, many households in Co Dam commune that were damaged by natural disasters have also been supported by the Vingroup Corporation's charity fund.

Mr. Le Van Han - Vice Chairman of Loc Ha Commune People's Committee - said that storm No. 10 caused great damage to infrastructure as well as houses of local people.

After storm No. 10, Vingroup Corporation's Thien Tam Fund directly presented support to affected households in Loc Ha commune with a total amount of more than 6 billion VND. Of which, some households with collapsed houses are supported with 60 million VND, and damaged households are supported with 20 million VND.

Regarding the allocation of the Ha Tinh Provincial Relief Fund, according to Mr. Han, the locality has received 1.5 billion VND. However, the locality has not been able to organize the support awarding, because it is stuck to consider and avoid overlapping with households that have been supported by the Vingroup Corporation's Charity Fund or some other organizations.

The locality will soon review and approve to complete the granting of damage support to people this November as directed by the province.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods
