From 2004 to present, scientists have conducted 4 explorations and excavations with a total area of 18,000m2. Thereby, initially clearly defining the characteristics of Nam Giao International architecture: the back is supported by Don Son mountain, the face faces the Nam Giao field, the structure consists of 5 rectangular levels facing the South - expressing the concept of "round sky, square earth" of the ancients.
The main material of the project is green stone, similar to the type of stone used to build the Ho Dynasty Citadel. Many artifacts made of terracotta such as rectangular bricks and leaf tiles carved with dragon characters have also been discovered.
