Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council emphasized that the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is an important political event of the country; a profound democratic activity among the people to promote the right to mastery, select outstanding and worthy people, representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people.

Resolutely and promptly grasp the direction of the Politburo, the election preparation work is being strictly, consistently and proactively implemented from the central to local levels, creating an important foundation for successfully organizing the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels (held on March 15, 2026). The success of the election depends on many factors, including the extremely important role and responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, in recent times, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Election Council, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, the Prime Minister, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and departments, ministries and branches have issued many documents to guide, direct and guide election work. The National Election Council and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a conference to directly coordinate nationwide online training for officials and those directly involved in election work. It can be assessed that up to this point, the work is being carried out in accordance with the regulations and set schedule.
Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasized that organizing a conference to negotiate and introduce candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies is an extremely important task in the election process, to negotiate the structure, composition and number of delegates of agencies, organizations and units recommended for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies, and at the same time make a preliminary list and select and make an official list of candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels.
According to regulations, to ensure democracy and select eligible candidates for National Assembly and People's Council delegates, the consultation conference will be held three times. The first trade conference at each level will be held from December 1, 2025 to December 10, 2025; The second trade conference will be held from February 2, 2026 to February 3, 2026. The third trade period is from February 9, 2026 to February 20, 2026, said Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai.
To carry out the election work in accordance with the provisions of law, with a spirit of democracy, objectivity, frankness, Construction, and high responsibility, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front hopes that the above-mentioned members and comrades will give their opinions on the plan of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Submission of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the structure, composition, and number of people at the Central Committee recommended to be candidates for the 16th National Assembly.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Delegation Work Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee presented the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the expected number of people of political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations, armed forces of the people, and state agencies at the Central level to be introduced as candidates for the 16th National Assembly.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Election Work of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented the presentation of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the expected number of people of political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations, people's armed forces, and state agencies at the central level to be introduced as candidates for the 16th National Assembly.
