On August 11, information from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province said that the unit had just organized a reception of gifts and feelings from the volunteer group of Quang Ninh province for people in flooded areas.
The volunteer group of Quang Ninh province traveled more than 600km to the flooded areas of My Ly and Nhon Mai communes, giving goods and cash to the people, adding motivation for people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
After a short time of calling, volunteer groups in Quang Ninh province have mobilized 20 tons of goods, necessities and 400 million VND in cash, with a total value of 900 million VND. All goods and cash were directly delivered by the delegation to households heavily affected by the recent floods and landslides.
According to the representative of the volunteer group, not only giving gifts, the group also witnessed the roads being seriously eroded, many houses were damaged, and people's lives were turned upside down. This activity is also an opportunity for the delegation to survey the reality and grasp the needs before continuing the long-term mobilization and support programs to help people rebuild their lives.
At the reception, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province expressed their respect and gratitude for the heart of the volunteer group of Quang Ninh province, considering this a great source of material and spiritual encouragement for people to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
The flood at the end of July 2025 occurred in the mountainous areas of the western part of Nghe An province, killing 4 people; sweeping away, collapsing, and damaging nearly 7,500 houses; causing serious damage to traffic infrastructure, healthcare, and education; total damage reached more than VND 3,700 billion, of which damage to housing was more than VND 1,500 billion, damage to traffic infrastructure was VND 1,390 billion.
In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
