On the afternoon of February 2nd, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of An Giang province held the 2nd consultation conference to elect National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council (HĐND) deputies of the 11th term, term 2026 - 2031.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, the plan to allocate National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, An Giang province is allocated 21 deputies. Among them, central deputies introduced the allocation to localities of 10 deputies, and deputies of An Giang province 11 deputies.
According to the list and dossiers of candidates for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term in An Giang province transferred by the Provincial Election Commission to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) for the 2nd consultation, there are a total of 33 dossiers. Among them, there are 4 cases where the referring agency has submitted applications for withdrawal from the election, and the remaining 29 dossiers, including 2 cases of self-election. According to the list of 29 dossiers submitted to the 2nd consultation conference, the combined structure includes 13 female delegates; 3 delegates who are ethnic minorities; 5 non-Party delegates; 5 young delegates (under 40 years old); 5 re-elected delegates.
100% of delegates unanimously approved the preliminary list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly, which is 29 people (including 27 people who were introduced for candidacy and 2 people who nominated themselves).
According to the list and dossiers of candidates for the 11th term of the Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, transferred by the Provincial Election Commission to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for consultation, there are a total of 194 dossiers. Among them, 2 cases have submitted applications to withdraw their candidacy, and the remaining 192 dossiers, including 2 cases of self-nomination.
According to the list of 192 dossiers submitted to the 2nd consultation conference, the combined structure includes 17 delegates who are ethnic minorities; 86 female delegates; 21 non-Party delegates; 57 young delegates (under 40 years old); 44 re-elected delegates.
100% of delegates unanimously approved the preliminary list of candidates for the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031 with 192 people (including 190 people recommended for candidacy and 2 people who nominated themselves).

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang province, Tran Thi Thanh Huong, requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to urgently complete the minutes of the conference and the preliminary list of candidates to send to competent agencies according to regulations. At the same time, proactively coordinate with the Provincial Election Commission and relevant agencies to implement the plan to collect opinions and confidence from voters.
Professional Boards and Offices of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee agencies, together with agencies, organizations, and units with nominees, need to closely coordinate with the commune-level Front in organizing voter meetings at their place of residence; ensure the correct order, procedures, and time; promote democracy, publicity, transparency, and create conditions for voters to participate in contributing opinions fully and responsibly.
In the process of organizing voter opinion collection, if any content arises that needs verification, it is requested that competent agencies promptly coordinate, consider, and respond on time, ensuring clarification of information, creating unity and consensus before entering the 3rd consultation conference.
The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels needs to closely follow the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, legal regulations and guidelines of the Central Government, continue to promote the role and responsibility of the Front in negotiating, supervising, and coordinating the organization of elections, contributing to ensuring that the election takes place democratically, in accordance with the law, safely, and economically.
