81 years since the autumn of 1945 is a special journey of the Vietnamese nation. From a country that had just gained independence, facing many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam has gradually built a peaceful, unified, developing and integrated nation.
The achievements that have been achieved are vivid proof of the strength of the will for independence, self-reliance and the aspiration for development of the entire nation.
From a small-scale economy, Vietnam has risen to become one of the most dynamic economies in the region. In 2025, GDP increased by 8.02%, belonging to the group of high-growth economies in the region and the world.
In the first 6 months of 2026, GDP increased by 8.18% compared to the same period last year. This is an important basis for the economy to continue towards the double-digit growth target.
Resolution of the 14th Party Congress has shown strong innovative thinking and long-term strategic vision; continuing to affirm consistent goals, but flexible and creative in leadership methods and implementation organization to bring the country to develop faster, more sustainably and more comprehensively.
The great and historically significant achievements in 40 years of Doi Moi (Renovation) are the result of a process of persistent and continuous efforts, the crystallization of the intelligence of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army; affirming that our Party's renovation policy is correct, creative, and suitable to Vietnamese practice and the trend of the times.
After 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi (Renovation) campaign, our Party has summarized valuable lessons learned at theoretical level, gradually building and perfecting the theory of the Doi Moi (Renovation) guidelines, which has practical orientation value for the country's revolutionary cause in the new period.
The Resolution of the 14th Party Congress has set the goal of striving to achieve an average growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) for the period 2026-2030 of 10%/year or more; GDP per capita by 2030 reaching about 8,500 USD.
Regarding orientation, establishing a new growth model with the goal of improving productivity, quality, efficiency, added value and competitiveness of the economy; taking science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the main driving forces.
Creating new high-quality production capacity and methods, focusing on data economy, digital economy, green economy, circular economy; promoting digital transformation, green transformation, energy transformation, structural transformation and quality of human resources.
Identify new growth drivers and take science and technology as the focus to promote and renew traditional growth drivers. Form strong growth poles, key economic regions, urban areas, and new generation special economic zones on par with the region and the globe.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Tuc - Chairman of the Advisory Council on Culture and Society (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front) - emphasized that the consistent viewpoint "the people are the root" in all policies for the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam. In particular, it is necessary to continue to focus on developing a multi-component economy in a market mechanism, with socialist orientation.
These factors will help us promote the strength of the entire nation," Mr. Nguyen Tuc emphasized.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuc, to achieve the 2030 goals and aspirations for 2045, especially the double-digit development goal, Vietnam must develop faster and more sustainably, must create a transparent business environment and a strong private economic sector, more based on productivity, science, innovation and creativity; and unleash the strength of more than 6 million Vietnamese people abroad.
Another important task he also mentioned is to maintain discipline and order, resolutely fight corruption, wastefulness, negativity, and bureaucracy; and purify the contingent of cadres in the political system.
