Opening of the National Congress of the Vietnam Former Youth Volunteers Association

Hanoi - The National Congress of the Vietnam Former Youth Volunteers Association solemnly opened on the morning of August 26th, in Hanoi Capital.

The 5th National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Former Youth Volunteers (TNXP), term 2026-2031, officially opened a solemn session with the participation of more than 400 official delegates and guest delegates who are leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, representatives of central committees, ministries, branches, and mass organizations; mass associations; honorary members and typical delegates in many fields.

The Congress aims to assess the results of implementing the Resolution of the 4th Congress, set out directions and tasks for the new term, continue to promote the heroic tradition of the Youth Volunteer force, contribute to educating the young generation, building and protecting the Fatherland.

In the IV term, the Vietnam Association of Former Youth Volunteers at all levels continues to promote heroic traditions, the role of historical witnesses, strengthen solidarity, promote "Comradeship"; coordinate propaganda and education of revolutionary traditions for the young generation; actively respond to campaigns and patriotic emulation movements.

More than 19,500 Youth Volunteers have received one-time allowances, 910 Youth Volunteers have received regular allowances, and more than 156,200 Youth Volunteers have been issued health insurance cards.

Association levels organize and participate in many activities contributing to economic development in the locality such as: Donating more than 59,300m2 of family land to build rural transport and grassroots cultural works; contributing nearly 29,500 working days, participating in building 144 rural bridges made of reinforced concrete and 110.4km of rural transport roads worth nearly 78.2 billion VND. The movement "Former Youth Volunteers doing good business - For comradeship" is of interest to association levels, with nearly 1,300 economic models of members...

Entering the 2026-2031 term, the Association identifies the direction to continue "Promoting heroic traditions, former Youth Volunteers elevate virtue - wisdom - courage, build a strong Association organization, promote campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, contributing to educating the young generation, advancing into a new era".

The Association continues to promote the role of historical witnesses, representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of former Youth Volunteers. Building a comprehensively strong Association organization; improving the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and education of the tradition of "gratitude and reciprocity".

The Congress focused on promoting 1 campaign and 2 movements, specifically: The campaign "Former Youth Volunteers set a bright example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style"; launching the movement "For comradeship, former Youth Volunteers help each other do good business" and the movement "For national development, emulation to complete the goals assigned by the Party and State".

The Congress identified a number of key targets such as: Striving where there are former Youth Volunteers, there are activities of the Association; 75% of Association organizations at all levels reach a fairly good and excellent level, there are no weak Association organizations; gathering over 85% of former Youth Volunteers to participate in Association activities. Striving for 100% of Youth Volunteers eligible for policies to be guaranteed to fully implement regimes and policies according to regulations. 100% of former Youth Volunteers in difficult circumstances and their biological children infected with Agent Orange/dioxin are visited by the Association and comrades, requesting the State to pay attention and help...

With the action motto "Honor is paramount, unity is strength, for comradeship, for social development, prosperity and happiness", the 5th Congress set a goal to continue building a strong Association organization, promoting the qualities and traditions of the Youth Volunteer force, better caring for the lives of members and making practical contributions to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
