More than 1,000 Khanh Hoa youths light candles in gratitude to heroic martyrs

Khanh Hoa - Candle lighting ceremony of gratitude simultaneously at cemeteries in the province to commemorate heroic martyrs before July 27.

On the evening of July 26, thousands of Khanh Hoa youth union members participated in a candle lighting ceremony in gratitude at martyrs' cemeteries and monuments, commemorating heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).

The provincial-level candle lighting ceremony was organized by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union at Hon Dung Martyrs' Cemetery (Tay Nha Trang ward).

Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and more than 600 youth union members and students.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense, and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs.

After the memorial ceremony, the delegates lit candles and offered incense at each martyr's grave, expressing deep gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Mr. Huynh Huu Phuc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union shared that the candles of gratitude not only express gratitude to previous generations but also are a promise of Khanh Hoa youth.

That is, to continue to promote revolutionary traditions, actively study, train, work, and contribute, contributing to building Khanh Hoa into a centrally-run city.

At the same time, the Youth Union of Tay Nha Trang ward organized a candle lighting ceremony in gratitude at 23/10 Park with the participation of a large number of union members, youth, students, militia and armed forces.

At the ceremony, local youth expressed their determination to continue to promote activities to care for and support people with meritorious services; visit policy families; clean up and renovate martyrs' memorial works; organize journeys to the source and strengthen revolutionary tradition education for the young generation.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates and union members offered flowers and incense at the 23rd of October Monument and the stele commemorating the martyrs who sacrificed at the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Front.

At Cam Ranh Martyrs' Cemetery, the Cam Ranh Ward Youth Union coordinated with union units in the area to organize a candle lighting ceremony in gratitude.

Also on the evening of July 26, at Ninh Thuan Martyrs' Cemetery (Xuan Hai commune), the candle lighting ceremony with the participation of Mr. Lam Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and nearly 400 officials, union members, and youth.

Delegates offered flowers, incense, and candles at 1,183 martyrs' graves and the Memorial Stele, expressing deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who dedicated their lives to the cause of national liberation and national defense.

Khanh Hoa province has 8 martyrs' cemeteries with 7,196 graves, of which 2,234 graves have not been identified.

In recent years, the province has nurtured nearly 1,700 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers for life and built and repaired more than 12,000 houses of gratitude.

2026 is also the first year that the Resolution stipulating the level of gifts for people with meritorious services to the revolution of Khanh Hoa province on the annual War Invalids and Martyrs' Day of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council is applied.

Accordingly, about 18,221 people belonging to 12 groups of people with meritorious services to the revolution throughout the province will receive gifts on War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, which is 500,000 VND/gift.
