On December 10, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City held the first meeting of bargaining, introducing the candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the delegates of the Hue City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City Nguyen Chi Tai emphasized that this is an important step to agree on the structure, composition, and number of people recommended for the 16th National Assembly nomination and the 9th Hue City People's Council delegates. Determining the correct and appropriate structure and quantity is the foundation for personnel selection to ensure the leadership and direction requirements of the Central Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.
The conference agreed on two contents: structure, composition, number of people recommended to run for the 16th National Assembly; and structure, composition, number of people recommended to run for the 2026 - 2031 term Hue City People's Council delegates.
As planned, Hue City will elect 9 National Assembly deputies (3 deputies introduced by the Central Government, 6 deputies residing and working in the locality). The number of Hue City People's Council delegates for the 2026 - 2031 term is 53 people.
Delegates attending the conference discussed democratically and objectively, contributing opinions on the structure and personnel expected to introduce candidates.
According to the Resolution of the 15th National Assembly, the election date for the 16th National Assembly members and People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term was set for Sunday, March 15, 2026.
