On November 24, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a conference to agree on the expected structure, composition and allocation of the number of people recommended to run for the 18th Provincial People's Council delegates, term 2026 - 2031.
According to the practical situation of organizational apparatus, population size, administrative units, along with the organizational structure of the Party, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the province in the two-level local government model, the number of provincial People's Council delegates elected for the 2026 - 2031 term is 85 delegates. The total number of people recommended for the nomination is at least 136 people.
The structure of people recommended for nomination must ensure the following criteria: The proportion of women reaches at least 35% in the official list, equivalent to at least 48 people; strive for a winning rate of about 30%, equivalent to 26 female delegates. The rate of non-Party people striving is not less than 10%, at least 14 people. The rate of young people (under 40 years old) struggling is not less than 15%, equivalent to at least 20 people. For the 17th Provincial People's Council delegates re-elected, strive to achieve no less than 30%, with a minimum of 26 people.

Based on the opinions discussed at the conference, Mr. Tran Quoc Van - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized that the development of a structure, components and allocation of the number of people recommended to run for the 18th Provincial People's Council delegates is an important task, requiring compliance with regulations, ensuring quality and representation.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and relevant agencies and units to agree on the number of elected delegates and the number of people recommended for nomination, closely following the criteria on the ratio of women, young people, non- Party people and re-elected delegates. The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to organize consultations on time and according to procedures, ensuring democracy, objectivity, selecting people with quality, capacity and prestige.
The Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council will advise on the issuance of full resolutions and guiding documents to serve the preparation for the election of People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring consistency and on schedule.
Concluding the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested units to focus highly, strictly carry out assigned tasks, ensure the election preparation process is implemented closely and effectively, contributing to the successful organization of the election in the coming time.
