Tomorrow (March 15), voters nationwide will vote for deputies of the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam and deputies of People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. Up to now, all preparations for the election have been implemented on schedule and in accordance with regulations, in which the Vietnam Fatherland Front has promoted its role in negotiation, introducing candidates, organizing voter contacts and supervising the election process. Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central organizations, Vice President - Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, had an exchange with the press about this issue.

Dear Vice Chairman - Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga, at this point, how do you assess the progress of preparations for the election work chaired and coordinated by the Vietnam Fatherland Front nationwide?
- The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) plays a particularly important role in the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels. These include the work of consultation to select and introduce typical candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels; propaganda and mobilization of people to fully exercise the rights and responsibilities of voters; organizing and guiding voters to participate in supervising the entire election process; coordinating inspection and supervision of election organization at the central and local levels; creating conditions for people to directly participate in supervision through voter conferences at their place of residence and workplace, listing voters' lists, and campaigning for elections...
With that role, in the past time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has focused on implementing many important tasks, such as focusing on building guiding documents, supporting grassroots localities, especially the Vietnam Fatherland Front, so that localities are proactive in organizing their election activities.
Implementing the guidance of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has closely coordinated with Party committees and local authorities, promoting the core role of election councils to organize consultation rounds to ensure the correct procedures and regulations of law, thereby selecting and introducing a list of candidates with reasonable structure and number.
Immediately after the Consultation Conference, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels coordinated to well organize voter contact activities for candidates in all localities across the country. The activities were implemented in accordance with regulations, ensuring democracy and publicity, creating conditions for candidates to present action programs and voters to exchange and express opinions, thereby contributing to helping voters have more information to choose and elect worthy delegates.
Through grasping the general situation, we have received very positive feedback from localities, from people, voters, union members, and association members at voter meetings through the presentation of the action program of candidates. This shows that the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels this time has a very clear change. That is the spirit of action and the active involvement of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to create an atmosphere of excitement, excitement, and confidence in the people, in each voter regarding the implementation of the provisions of law on voter contact for candidates to present their action programs.
We went to localities to grasp the situation and saw that from the Party Secretary to the village head, hamlet, residential group, head of the Fatherland Front Work Committee as well as heads of socio-political organizations have participated very actively and methodically.
In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees in localities have played their role very well in grasping the people's situation, focusing on propaganda and mobilizing union members, association members and people to understand their responsibilities, rights, and obligations in participating in elections to select representatives who truly represent the aspirations of the people. All of this shows a ready attitude for the "Moon and River Festival" - the day of the National Assembly and People's Council elections at all levels.
Madam, when joining the Front's roof, promoting the role of socio-political organizations, how has the work of propaganda and mobilization of union members and association members to participate in elections been implemented, especially in border areas, islands and areas with special conditions?
- With the broadly unified nature of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, over the past time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and socio-political organizations have focused on propaganda and mobilization among their own subjects. In remote areas, remote areas, difficult areas, ethnic minority areas and areas with a large number of religious people, the Front focuses on promoting the role of prestigious people at the grassroots level, religious dignitaries and officials in propaganda and mobilization of the people. Thereby contributing to raising awareness of voters and people about the meaning and importance of the election, encouraging voters to fully participate, exercise their rights and obligations as citizens, and at the same time creating consensus and consolidating people's trust in election work.
In addition, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations also strengthen many activities at the grassroots level to raise awareness and promote community cultural values; work to care for and support livelihoods for people after the Lunar New Year, especially in border areas, islands and areas affected by storms and floods. These practical activities contribute to creating momentum, consolidating people's trust and expectations in the elected representatives in the next term.

In the context that the country is entering a new stage of development with many intertwined opportunities and challenges, according to you, what requirements and standards should delegates selected by voters meet to truly be worthy of the trust and entrustment of voters, and at the same time truthfully reflect the will, aspirations and legitimate interests of the people?
- In the new development stage, I believe that the elected representative must be a person who truly represents the voice and legitimate aspirations of the people, must be a person with a Heart, a Vision, a desire to contribute and an innovative spirit, with attachment, sharing and closeness with the masses to bring the breath of life to the National Assembly.
Each delegate must constantly cultivate and train qualities, morality and lifestyle, actively learn to have in-depth knowledge, especially always closely follow the socio-economic developments in the locality, listen to the opinions and aspirations of voters to choose and propose important and practical issues to be discussed at the National Assembly's forums, as a basis for the process of participating in perfecting policies and proposing effective solutions to issues raised in practice.
Not only speaking well, presenting good action programs, elected representatives must be representatives who act decisively so that commitments are effectively implemented in practice. To do that, the delegate must understand and always ponder the issues that people are concerned about, firmly grasp the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the people to participate in contributing to the process of building laws, deciding on policies that are "right, accurate, and in line with the people's wishes" and for the benefit of the nation and people.

Madam, for the election day to take place democratically, lawfully and thoughtfully, what key tasks has the Vietnam Fatherland Front focused on these days?
- Before the March 15 election day, the Fatherland Front at all levels continues to review voter lists. Strengthen propaganda and mobilization to help voters and people understand their rights, responsibilities and honors, participate in the election fully and on time with the highest responsibility.
Along with that, we promote the role of supervision and social criticism through supervising the process of preparing and organizing elections to ensure compliance with legal regulations. The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels continues to coordinate in inspecting and supervising the election preparation work in localities, especially the listing of voters' lists, lists and summary biographies of candidates, ensuring complete, public and transparent information.
We also strengthen grassroots situation and public opinion to promptly make proposals and recommendations to Party committees, authorities and election councils at all levels. In particular, focus on mobilizing people from all walks of life to promote the spirit of civic responsibility, participate in elections fully and in accordance with the law, contributing to making election day truly become a festival for the whole people.
Thank you very much, madam!
