Crossing forests for half a day to prepare for early elections in Gia Lai

Hoài Luân |

Gia Lai - Due to the difficult terrain, having to walk through the forest for nearly half a day to reach the place, village O2 (Vinh Son commune) was allowed to organize voting 1 day earlier.

On the morning of March 13, preparations for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in O2 village, Vinh Son commune (Gia Lai province) were completed. This is the only polling station in the province that organized elections one day earlier (March 14) than the general time of the whole country (March 15).

Lao Dong reporters followed the working delegation, to O2 village - this is a particularly difficult area, located isolated in the mountainous forest area. From the center of Vinh Son commune to enter the village, we had to walk for nearly half a day through the forest, overcoming many steep slopes connected to each other and small streams. Because of the difficult travel conditions, this area is allowed to organize early voting to ensure people's voting rights.

The whole village currently has 57 households, mainly Bana ethnic people, with 131 voters. Although far away, the atmosphere of preparation for election day is still urgent and serious.

In recent days, the Vinh Son commune government and the forces serving the election have had to bring ballot boxes, documents, voter lists and necessary equipment to walk for many hours through the forest to access the area. The arrangement of polling stations, preparation of facilities and documents serving the election are carried out in accordance with regulations.
