Aspiration for a development model that does not trade off the future
People do not expect an economy to "grow at all costs", but expect an harmoniously developed economy, where economic benefits are closely linked to social stability, environmental protection and preserving living space for future generations.
Party documents through many Congresses have affirmed the requirement of rapid development in parallel with sustainability. However, the 14th Congress further clarified the path to realizing that requirement in the new context, when the room for growth in breadth is increasingly narrowing, while pressures on the environment, population, aging and international competition are increasing.
The people's hearts hope for decisive policies that are brave enough to abandon development models that have revealed limitations; wise enough to choose a path based on productivity, quality, science - technology and people; steadfast enough not to be drawn into short-term but potentially long-term risks for the nation.
Aspiration for sustainable livelihoods and sense of security in life
From a practical perspective, a very clear change in social psychology today is the change in the way people perceive the employment issue. If previously, the main desire was "to have jobs", today, the aspiration has been elevated to "to have sustainable livelihoods". The labor market is fluctuating strongly, the process of economic restructuring and the impact of science and technology have made many jobs more fragile, putting workers at risk of being eliminated if they do not adapt in time.
The 14th Congress issued more fundamental policies on labor market development, on protecting workers from economic shocks, on retraining and improving skills so that people are not left behind in the development process. The people's hearts desire a sense of security in life: working with guarantees, enough income to live on, having savings and having a social security net when encountering risks. It is not only an socio-economic issue, but also an important psychological foundation for social stability and for each person to feel secure in contributing to the country.
The aspiration for guaranteed and preventive social security
The people's aspiration for social security today has gone far beyond the traditional concept of support or relief when facing difficulties. Instead, people want a social security system that is guaranteed and preventive, helping people to be proactive in the face of life risks, from disease, unemployment to population aging. Reality shows that in places where social security is well designed and operates effectively, society is more stable, and people's trust in the State is also strengthened more firmly.
The 14th Congress elevates social security as a pillar of sustainable development. The people hope that policies on health, education, social insurance, housing... will not only expand in coverage, but also improve in quality and practical access; not just stop at "having policies", ensuring that people truly benefit. That is the aspiration for a society that does not leave anyone on the sidelines of development.
Aspiration for social justice associated with opportunities to rise
In the people's perception, social justice does not mean equal sharing of results, but creates fair conditions for each person to have the opportunity to rise up through education, labor and dedication. A fair society is a society where the origin does not determine fate, where individual efforts are paved the way by sound policies and a healthy social environment. Reality shows that when opportunities are narrowed, inequality will accumulate into social instability, eroding trust and community cohesion.
The 14th Congress has fundamental policies to narrow the development gap between regions; improve the quality of education and vocational training; create conditions for young people and workers in difficult areas to better access development opportunities. This is not only an socio-economic problem, but also a moral issue and a long-term stable foundation of the country.
Aspiration for substantive democracy and respect for the voice of the People
The people's aspiration for democracy today is not just about being known, but about being involved and being supervised in a substantive way. People hope that their voices will be listened to seriously, not formally; hope that decisions directly related to life must reflect the thoughts and aspirations of the people. Reality shows that where democracy is implemented well, policies enter life faster and more effectively.
In that process, the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations is of particular importance. With the function of representing, gathering, and widely uniting all classes of people, the Front and member organizations are a direct bridge between the Party, State and people; a channel to truthfully reflect the thoughts, aspirations, opinions and recommendations of the people on major guidelines and policies. Promoting real democracy cannot be separated from promoting the role of social supervision and criticism of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in accordance with the spirit of the documents of the XIII Congress and is further affirmed and developed at the XIV Congress.
The 14th Congress is trusted to continue to improve the mechanism for the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to participate more deeply and substantively in the process of building, implementing and supervising policies; thereby ensuring that democracy is not only a principle affirmed in documents, but becomes a vivid reality in social life. This is an important foundation to create sustainable social consensus - a prerequisite for the successful implementation of all major policies.
The aspiration for human development and the spiritual foundation of the nation
Finally, but with long-term strategic significance, is the aspiration to develop people and preserve the spiritual foundation of the nation. The people hope that the country will not only be rich in material things, but also strong in culture, morality and human character. In the context of increasingly deep international integration, preserving cultural identity and building Vietnamese people in the new era has become an urgent requirement.
The XIV Congress has strategic decisions to develop culture to truly become the endogenetic strength of the country; investing in education, science, and people as a long-term development choice. This is the most solid foundation to ensure the sustainable and self-reliant development of the nation in the new era.
From the spirit of the documents, a consistent requirement can be clearly seen: all major policies of the Party must originate from practice, originate from the legitimate interests of the People and aim to improve the quality of life of the People. When the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations truly promote their roles well, the aspirations of the people's hearts will be gathered, filtered and transformed into broad social consensus, creating a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress.
