On the morning of June 11, news from Dong Loc Commune People's Committee said that the locality had just organized a commendation and reward ceremony for union member Nguyen Huu Thai Viet (born in 2008, residing in Thuong Son village, Xuan Loc commune, Ha Tinh province) for his courageous act of saving people.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 7, while swimming at Trai Tieu lake, in Trai Tieu village, Dong Loc commune, Tran Thi Bich Loan (born 2013) and Tran Thi Linh San (born 2015) both residing in Do Hanh village, Dong Loc commune unfortunately drowned.
Discovering a dangerous situation, Nguyen Huu Thai Viet did not mind the danger, quickly jumped into the water and rescued the two children and brought them ashore safely.
Recognizing and praising that courageous action, the Chairman of Dong Loc Commune People's Committee decided to award a certificate of merit to Nguyen Huu Thai Viet.
