On the morning of June 16, sharing before the VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association (CCB), Ms. Le Thi Hai Ly - CCB of Quang Tri delegation - said that she placed a lot of faith and expectations in this congress, because of the positive results in implementing the goals and tasks of the VII Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association.
Ms. Le Thi Hai Ly was born in 1962, is a CCB of Warehouse 86, Department of Military Ordnance, General Department of Technology (Ministry of National Defense). Retired in 2008, Ms. Ly was honored to attend the VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association for the first time with 10 veteran comrades.
“Participating in the congress for the first time, I feel very proud. I expect the Congress to find the newest and best direction for the next term. I also believe in many good results in the coming time when the Congress determines to focus on 2 breakthroughs: Building lean, compact, strong Association organizations, exemplary and typical association officials at all levels; actively and proactively effectively implementing digital transformation work,” Ms. Ly said.
Ms. Ly said that her branch is currently doing very well in the model of members helping each other develop the economy. Difficult members are allowed to borrow at least 50 million VND/person to raise livestock and open grocery stores. The CCB movement to help each other reduce poverty, do good business, and improve life has become a "habit" of CCB associations at all levels.
Sharing the same feeling of pride, Ms. Bui Thi Dong, born in 1962, CCB of Army Corps 2, said that she is 1 of 16 members of the Bac Ninh Provincial CCB Association attending the VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

Ms. Dong shared that she expects that in the next term, the Vietnam Veterans Association will do even better in the movement to help poor members develop the economy and escape poverty; especially hoping for a policy to prioritize businessmen who are veterans doing business.
At the Bac Ninh Provincial Veterans Association, we lend poor members at least 100 million VND/person to raise porcupines, pythons, and deer. In recent years, many members who have been lent capital have actively developed their family economy. Currently, the Bac Ninh Provincial Veterans Association no longer has members who are poor households," Ms. Dong said.
