For ethnic minorities in Lac Son district (Hoa Binh), preserving the living environment is not only a legal regulation but also a morality - a way of life left by our ancestors. However, the development of modern life and unreasonable living habits are causing clear environmental pressure in many places. Faced with that reality, Lac Son district has been stepping up the dissemination of the Law on Environmental Protection, using practical methods, close to the people, associated with daily life.
Without a dry "lecture of the law", without reading long-term decrees, propaganda sessions in Lac Son often start with real things - the story of a rural stream being dirty because of garbage, the story of a child walking on the ground passing through an open-air landfill... From those everyday stories, listeners are startled, then wonder: "Will we accidentally harm our children and grandchildren in the future?".
In a short time, the district has organized 24 law propaganda conferences in 24 communes and towns, attracting about 3,600 people to participate. The meetings do not need barriers or loudspeakers - just need a commune official, a sign, a few specific examples, and sincere words are enough for people to listen attentively and reflect.

Not only promoting by word of mouth, Lac Son also organized 6 media sessions to stage in Xuat Hoa, Thuong Coc, Quyet Thang, Yen Phu, Tan Lap communes and Vu Ban town. The atmosphere of each session is as bustling as a festival: short skits, cheerful songs, and familiar lines that make everyone who watches them nod. "The play is scary. Throw it away at will. Now we have to set an example for our children and grandchildren, Mr. Bui Van Thanh, a resident of Quyet Thang commune, frankly shared.
In remote areas, the propagandist is none other than the prestigious person, the women's union members, the veterans - those who understand the people, live with the people. They do not read the law but tell stories: whose house has a clean trash hole will be praised, the whole neighborhood contributes to planting flowers on both sides of the road to create a landscape. Thanks to that, each community activity session is not only a meeting but becomes a place to " study and discipline each other", spreading good habits.
Many effective models have been replicated. In Tan Lap commune, the model of "clean house - green garden - healthy environment" launched by the government and the Farmers' Association has received positive responses from the people. Any house with shade trees, self-degradable garbage pits, and no littering will be commended in front of the neighborhood meeting. Children are given the task of planting trees and clearing garbage; adults are proud to be praised by the people. The harsh but responsible atmosphere.
Ms. Bui Thi Ha - Head of the Lac Son District Judicial Department shared: "We do not apply the law in the form of an order. We go with the people, so that the people see the law as to protect themselves and their children and grandchildren.
Therefore, from loudspeakers, leaflets, Zalo groups to community activities, all are used as places to convey messages about environmental protection. Many villages and hamlets have included this content in their codes and conventions, taking the criterion of maintaining hygiene as one of the criteria for considering the title of cultural family.
In mountainous schools, teachers integrate environmental education into lessons and during classroomwork. To help students understand that: the environment is not far away, but it is a neatly collected landfill, a fresh stream flowing through the village, a shade of cool trees in front of their home yard.
Propagating properly, to the right people, in the right places - that is the way Lac Son district is gradually sowing green seeds into the community awareness, for a peaceful living environment for today and tomorrow.
