Gifts that add strength
Despite congenital limb disability, Mr. Vo Thanh Giang (35 years old) - an employee of the City Center for Social Protection - Vocational Training and Job Creation under the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Force - is still attached to the work of information technology. Living alone in Binh Hung commune, he strives to complete his tasks, overcome difficulties in daily life and cost pressure.
From July 2025 to now, Mr. Giang has been supported many times by the City Youth Volunteer Force. Most recently, in March 2026, he received a gift worth 2 million VND for officials in difficult circumstances to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the construction and development of the City Youth Volunteer Force (March 28, 1976 - March 28, 2026). "The words of encouragement and visits help me have more motivation to feel secure in my work and feel that I am not alone. I am proud to wear the Youth Volunteer shirt of the City" - Mr. Giang shared.
The sharing of the City Youth Volunteer Force continues to be spread to former Youth Volunteers through many practical activities. Mr. Chung Cuong Sanh - former Youth Volunteer of the City (67 years old, Vinh Hoi ward) was awarded a house of gratitude to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the construction and development of the City Youth Volunteer Force.
Previously, Mr. Sanh's family of 10 members lived in a cramped, seriously degraded house. Every rainy season, daily life encounters many difficulties.
After more than 1 month of construction, the house was completed in February 2026 with a cost of about 200 million VND, helping Mr. Sanh's family have a spacious and stable place to live.
Recalling the day he received the house, Mr. Sanh emotionally said: "I am very grateful to the City Youth Volunteer Force and units for supporting my family to have a complete home.
Spreading comradeship
Over the past time, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Force has implemented many activities to show gratitude and comradeship. On the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the unit organized delegations to visit and give gifts to 127 policy families of Youth Volunteers in difficult circumstances; at the same time, taking care of former Youth Volunteers of all periods, officials, employees, workers and social protection beneficiaries with a total budget of hundreds of millions of VND. Many sponsorship programs for comradeship, for social - charity purposes are also maintained regularly.
Mr. Do Huu Chinh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Force said that care work is always identified by the unit as an activity with humanistic meaning, contributing to preserving the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source" and spreading the spirit of solidarity and sharing throughout the force.
Along with the City Youth Volunteer Force, the Ho Chi Minh City Former Youth Volunteer Association has coordinated to implement many activities to care for and support members. Mr. Vo Thanh Phong - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Former Youth Volunteer Association - said that the City Youth Volunteer Force is the unit that directly verifies dossiers, resolves regimes and policies and implements support activities, while the Former Youth Volunteer Association takes on the task of reviewing and connecting cases that need support.
According to Mr. Phong, when the new term congress is completed and grassroots organizations are gradually consolidated, the work of caring for former Youth Volunteers is expected to be implemented more effectively, thereby continuing to spread the tradition of affection of the City Youth Volunteer Force.
