On the morning of January 5, Mr. Tran Van Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Dinh Van Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the working delegation visited, shared and encouraged the families of the two victims who died due to a house fire in My Phuoc Tay ward.
Immediately after the incident occurred, leaders of My Phuoc Tay Ward People's Committee directly arrived at the scene to direct the work of overcoming the consequences, visiting and encouraging the victim's family and providing initial support of 10 million VND to share difficulties and losses with the family.
The Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province supported 4 million VND for the two victims and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward mobilized 5 million VND to support the family.
Currently, the bodies of the two children have been handed over to their families to be taken back to their hometown for burial.

At about 10 pm on January 4, a house at 53 Nguyen Van Loc street (block 1, My Phuoc Tay ward, Dong Thap province) of a local resident, currently rented to the family of Mr. T.T.D. (born in 1989, permanently residing in Vinh Phuc province) to live in, caught fire.
At the time of the fire, Mr. D. and his wife were taking agricultural products from the wholesale market in Ho Chi Minh City to bring back to Cai Lay market to sell, leaving their two young children at home without anyone to look after them.
After receiving the news, My Phuoc Tay Ward Police quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with people to break down the door (door is locked inside) to put out the fire. While controlling the fire, functional forces discovered two children and quickly took them to Cai Lay Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, but both children died.

My Phuoc Tay Ward Police coordinated with professional departments of the Provincial Police and the People's Procuracy of Region 4 of Dong Thap province to conduct scene examination and autopsy to clarify the cause of the incident.
