On the morning of August 25, the Congress entered the Solemn Session with the participation of Party and State leaders, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, representatives of central and local departments, ministries, branches, domestic delegates and international guests.

At the Congress, delegates listened to speeches and directions from Party and State leaders; thereby clarifying the position and role of the collective economy in the national economy and the requirement to innovate the organization and operating methods of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system.

In the context of promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology and international integration, the cooperative sector is facing the requirement to improve competitiveness, strengthen links between members, cooperatives and businesses and entities in the value chain.

The Vietnam Cooperative Alliance is oriented to focus more on the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members; consulting and supporting cooperatives to access capital, technology, and markets; promoting sustainable production - processing - consumption linkage chains.

Within the framework of the Congress, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance and the Vietnam Red Cross Society signed a Coordination Program to strengthen humanitarian activities, support the community and contribute to the implementation of social security policies.

The VII National Congress of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance passed the Resolution and launched the Executive Committee of the VII term.

The approved policies are the basis for the collective economic sector and cooperatives to promote internal strength, strengthen linkages, adapt to new requirements and make more practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the country.

On August 24, a delegation of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, term VI, laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Bac Son Martyrs' Memorial and visited the Vietnam Military History Museum.

In the afternoon of the same day, the first session of the Congress officially opened. Delegates elected the Presidium, the Secretariat, the Committee for Appraisal of Delegate Status; voted to approve the Regulations and Working Program.

The Congress listened to the Review Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance term VI and contents related to the Charter of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance term VII, which updates regulations in accordance with current laws, especially the Cooperative Law in 2023.

The contents presented at the Congress are the basis for evaluating the results of activities in the past term, and at the same time determining the direction and tasks of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system for the 2026-2031 term.

Personnel work is one of the important contents conducted by the Congress on the first working day. The consolidation of the leadership organization for the new term is expected to create a foundation for the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to innovate operating methods, strengthen connections, and support cooperatives to improve management capacity, expand markets and participate more deeply in the value chain.
