At the press conference to inform about the results of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, term 2026 - 2031, on the afternoon of June 8, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the 9th Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union said that the Congress had voted to approve 11 specific targets to serve as a basis for striving and evaluating the operational efficiency of the new term:
100% of cadres and members are propagated, disseminated, and educated on the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State, and resolutions and directives of the Association.
Admit from 500,000 new members or more.
Newly established 25,000 professional Farmers' Association groups, 2,500 professional Farmers' Association branches; advised and supported at least 18,000 professional Farmers' Association groups, 3,000 professional Farmers' Association branches in producing, processing, and trading agricultural products and food according to safe quality processes and standards.
At least 97% of grassroots associations have completed their tasks well or better.
Training and fostering to improve the qualifications and skills of 250,000 excellent farmers and good farmers in production and business at all levels.
Every year, 60% or more of farming households register to strive and 50% or more of households register to achieve the title of good production and business at all levels.
Supporting the establishment of 5,000 new cooperative groups, 1,000 agricultural cooperatives; guiding and supporting at least 4,500 cooperative groups, 1,500 agricultural cooperatives producing, processing, and trading according to safe quality processes and standards, including at least 300 cooperatives connecting safe food supply chains.
100% of OCOP agricultural and food products mobilized, consulted, and supported by the Farmers' Association are traceable.
The average growth of the farmer support fund is 10%/year or more; outstanding entrusted debt with banks strives to reach 200,000 billion VND.
At least 70% of farmer members are equipped with digital knowledge and skills; over 95% of member households have correct knowledge and practice of food safety.
Mobilize, guide, and support members and farmers to establish at least 5,000 businesses operating in the agricultural sector.
To implement the above 11 targets, the Chairman of the 9th Vietnam Farmers' Union emphasized that the Congress has set out 6 key tasks and solutions for the 2026 - 2031 term.
That is to build a clean and strong Vietnam Farmers' Union, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Building new farmers and the Vietnamese farming class to meet development requirements in the new era.
Promoting the role of farmers as the subjects in agricultural development, rural economy, and new rural construction.
Participating in building the Party, government and great national unity bloc.
Actively participate in ensuring national defense and security.
Proactively integrate, promote international cooperation and people-to-people diplomacy.
And perform 4 breakthrough tasks including:
Continue to strongly innovate methods of gathering and uniting farmers associated with digital transformation in the Association's work.
Focus on mobilizing and supporting farmers to develop the collective economy in agriculture associated with ensuring food safety.
Strengthen and improve the qualifications and skills of Association officials and farmer members, focusing on digital knowledge and skills.
Promote mobilization, guidance, and support for good farmers in production and business to participate in developing businesses operating in the agricultural sector.
