The history of the Vietnamese revolution shows that all victories of the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland originate from the people's hearts, from the flesh-and-blood bond between the Party and the people. The people's hearts battleground is therefore always identified as the basic foundation of the all-people national defense battleground, people's security and the overall strength of the nation.
In that process, revolutionary journalism plays a particularly important role in conveying the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws to the people in a timely, accurate, easy-to-understand and persuasive manner. Through journalistic works, the Party's major policies are explained, analyzed and clarified in a language close to life, helping people understand correctly, fully and actively participate in implementation.
The press is not only transmitting one-way information but also a channel to reflect the thoughts, aspirations, and legitimate recommendations of the people to Party committees and authorities at all levels. Spreading human values, arousing the spirit of great national unity
Great national unity is the strategic direction of the Vietnamese revolution, the main source of strength and motivation for building and protecting the Fatherland.
Throughout history, revolutionary journalism has always been a pioneering force in propagating, encouraging and spreading the ideology of national unity. From the years of struggle for national independence to today's renovation and international integration, journalism has contributed to connecting social strata, ethnic groups, religions, Vietnamese communities abroad and all patriotic forces for the common goal of the country.
Through stories of real people and real events; typical examples in labor, production, study, scientific research, protection of national sovereignty or community charity activities, journalism has strongly awakened the spirit of patriotism, self-reliance, self-strengthening and social responsibility of each citizen.
Fighting to protect the ideological foundation of the Party, maintaining the ideological battlefield in the hearts of the people
One of the important tasks of revolutionary journalism today is to participate in protecting the ideological foundation of the Party, fighting against wrong and hostile views.
Anti-government forces are increasingly taking advantage of cyberspace and digital media platforms to spread bad and toxic information, distort the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies; incite division of the great national unity bloc; and erode social trust.
In that struggle, revolutionary journalism is the core force on the ideological front. With scientific arguments, with the vivid reality of the country and with the persuasive power of truth, journalism contributes to clarifying the nature of issues, helping people identify right - wrong, true - false, positive - negative.
More importantly, the press not only refutes false information but also proactively builds social "resistance" against distorted arguments by spreading positive information, consolidating trust, and arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.
This is a strategic requirement to protect the Party's ideological foundation from the root, early and far.
Continue to promote the role of revolutionary journalism in the new development stage
The country is entering a development stage with increasingly high requirements for innovation, digital transformation and deep international integration. This poses new tasks for Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
First of all, it is necessary to continue to maintain the principles, purposes, and revolutionary nature, well perform the function of ideological orientation, orienting public opinion, creating unity in awareness and action.
Second, it is necessary to promote the digital transformation of journalism, apply modern technology to improve content quality, expand access to the public, especially the young generation.
Third, it is necessary to strengthen the detection, propaganda and replication of new factors, advanced examples, good models, and effective ways of doing things in all areas of social life; using beauty to eliminate ugliness, using positive to push back negativity.
Fourth, it is necessary to improve the ability to fight in cyberspace, proactively occupy information battlefields, and promptly orient public opinion in the face of complex and sensitive issues.
Fifth, it is necessary to build a team of journalists with firm political bravery, bright professional ethics, proficiency in professional skills, mastering new technologies and always closely attached to the people.
For more than a century accompanying the nation, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has affirmed its position as a shock force on the ideological and cultural front of the Party. In every revolutionary period, the press has always been a bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts, contributing to consolidating social trust, strengthening consensus and promoting the strength of national unity.
