Emulation movement spreads from disadvantaged areas
Nhi Son - a mountainous border commune of Muong Lat district - is a clear demonstration of the strength of the emulation movement when implemented in the right direction. There are more than 3,400 people here, of which the Mong people account for nearly 97%. Rough terrain, harsh climate, and many difficulties in life have been major barriers to development. However, it is also in that difficult time that the spirit of solidarity and self-reliance of the people has been strongly aroused.
The movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" was widely implemented, creating high consensus. Nhi Son people donated land, contributed working days to build roads, and renovated the village. To date, 72% of the commune's traffic roads have been reinforced; 87% of households have solid houses; the poverty rate has decreased rapidly from 38% to 21%. The "For the Poor" Fund has mobilized over 500 million VND, supported the construction and repair of 28 Great Unity houses, helping dozens of households have stable housing.
Ms. Thao Thi Me - Chairwoman of Nhi Son Commune Fatherland Front Committee - shared that the most important thing is to "take the people as the subject", every movement is aimed at the practical interests of the people, by the people and for the people. Thanks to the closeness and understanding of the people, the emulation movement in Nhi Son has truly entered life, arousing the spirit of overcoming difficulties and rising up of ethnic minorities.
Innovation, substance and focus on the grassroots
Over the past 5 years, Thanh Hoa has implemented many patriotic emulation movements with strong influence. From the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", "For the poor - No one is left behind", to the program "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", "Promoting the development of modern infrastructure, practicing thrift, fighting waste" ... all have created motivation to encourage localities to strive to overcome difficulties, completing the dual goal: Economic development and improving people's lives.
Emulation results are clearly demonstrated in most areas. The new rural movement continues to bring about major changes, from transport infrastructure, electricity - water to schools, health stations. The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been vigorously implemented by the province, achieving many outstanding results. Thousands of solidarity houses donated in recent years are a fulcrum for people to feel secure in developing production.
At the same time, emulation movements on culture - society, national defense - security were also widely deployed. Many good models and creative approaches such as "Social crime-free version", "Economic Women's Group helps each other escape poverty", "S type of village", "Shining - green - clean - beautiful residential group" ... have become an important driving force to help localities maintain security and order, improve the quality of life and build a civilized living space.
At the 2025-2030 Patriotic Emulation Congress of Thanh Hoa province, provincial leaders highly appreciated the role of emulation movements in completing socio-economic goals for the period 2020-2025. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized: "The army and people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province are determined to successfully implement the Resolution's goals right from the first days of the term, arousing the strength of great solidarity, the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, daring to think, daring to do for the common development of the homeland".
Not only stopping at the achieved results, Thanh Hoa determined that the 2025-2030 period is the time to create a new breakthrough. The patriotic emulation movement will be promoted, focusing on 7 key contents. In particular, the most important content is emulation in the fields of economy - good production and business; restructuring economic sectors associated with growth model innovation; improving productivity, quality and competitiveness.
Nghi Son Economic Zone continues to be an important growth driver, along with industrial parks, urban areas, key tourism and high-tech agriculture. Administrative reform, digital transformation, and investment attraction are identified as strategic breakthroughs, helping Thanh Hoa move closer to the goal of being in the top 10 leading localities in the country in digital transformation by 2030.
In addition to economic development, the province also focuses on emulation movements in the fields of culture and society; improving the quality of education and health; strengthening national defense and security; building a safe and unique living environment. These movements not only contribute to stabilizing people's lives but also create a favorable environment to attract investment, develop tourism and trade.
New opportunity for Thanh Hoa
At the Patriotic Emulation Congress, Central Party Committee member and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed that Thanh Hoa is facing great luck to become a leading province, a model province of the country. She suggested that the province continue to innovate emulation and reward work in a practical and effective manner; turn emulation movements into strong spiritual motivation, "audien the good values of Thanh Hoa people - patriotism, steadfastness, diligence, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility".
