Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training said that the groundbreaking ceremony was implemented according to Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo and the direction of the Government. The form of direct and online organization at 4 locations in the province, in which Yen Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School is the main location.
Four projects started simultaneously in Thanh Hoa include: Yen Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School (main activity point). Tam Lu Primary and Secondary Boarding School. Tam Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School. Meo Primary and Secondary Boarding School.
The program took place solemnly, economically, ensuring security and safety. Thanh Hoa Electricity and telecommunications enterprises are required to ensure power supply and transmission lines for bridge points; Provincial Police deploy plans to ensure traffic security and safety; Yen Khuong, Na Meo, Tam Lu, Tam Thanh localities clean, decorate and coordinate to welcome delegates.
The goal of the groundbreaking period is to ensure learning and accommodation conditions for students in border areas, thereby preserving and promoting cultural identity, improving the quality of education and contributing to the socio-economic development of the border gateway area of the province.
At the same time, 68 other schools across the country will have groundbreaking ceremonies. According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony for 72 projects on the same day, with the participation of leaders of the Government, ministries, branches and localities, demonstrates the spirit of close coordination and high determination of the entire political system in caring for students in border areas, fully preparing all conditions to soon complete 100 schools before the 2026-2027 school year. Previously, 28 schools had started construction and were urgently constructing.
With the participation of 72 schools and leaders of the Government, ministries, branches and 14 localities, this is an unprecedentedly large-scale school groundbreaking ceremony for the education sector.
The program to build 100 inter-level boarding schools in border communes is an important task, concretizing the policy of the Politburo and the Government on developing education in disadvantaged areas, contributing to strengthening social security, socio-economic development and maintaining national security and defense in border areas. The total investment cost for 100 schools is nearly 20,000 billion VND.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 14, in the border commune of Bat Mot, Thanh Hoa province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province started construction of the Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School project.
According to the plan, Thanh Hoa has 16 communes bordering Laos, so 16 schools will be built here.
