Gia Lai - Prime Minister attends the National Great Unity Festival in Thang Kien residential area (De Gi commune) on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day.

During his working trip to Gia Lai province on the morning of November 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Great National Unity Festival in Thang Kien residential area (De Gi commune) to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025).

At the festival, the Prime Minister joined in joying with the people and praised the achievements of the locality. The people of Thang Kien village have reviewed the glorious history and traditions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the role and position of the Front in the current revolutionary cause; summarized the implementation of patriotic emulation movements, building cultural life in residential areas...

Thang Kien village currently has 540 households with 2,500 people. The local economy continues to develop, with an average income per capita of over VND66 million/year; the poverty rate decreased to 0.26%; 99% of households achieved the title of Cultural Family.

At the festival, many exemplary families and individuals in the patriotic emulation movement and activities to build a united and strong community were commended and rewarded.

The Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated Gia Lai province in general and De Gi commune in particular in the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and developing the socio-economy, contributing to the overall development of the whole country.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and the people of Gia Lai promote the good tradition, resolutely implement the goals of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister and representatives of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security presented meaningful gifts to policy families, poor households, and those who suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters in the Thang Kien residential area and supported the locality in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group, the Vietnam Prosperity Bank... have presented funds to support the Thang Kien residential area and Gia Lai province to overcome the damage caused by the recent natural disasters.

The fierce storm "blew" 5,900 billion VND

At noon on November 13, at Cat Khanh Border Guard Station, the Prime Minister had a working session with the leaders of Gia Lai province on the damage situation and the work to overcome the consequences of storm No. 13.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that the storm caused heavy damage to houses, urban infrastructure, transportation, power grids, telecommunications, medical infrastructure, education... as well as production and business activities of people and businesses. The total damage is about 5,900 billion VND.

On behalf of the Party and the State, the Prime Minister praised the storm prevention spirit of the Gia Lai provincial government and people, especially in evacuation work, ensuring the safety of people's lives. At the same time, he praised the work of helping people and businesses overcome the consequences of the storm.

The Prime Minister suggested that the province focus on re-counting the total damage caused by the storm so that the Central Government can have a support plan. In particular, reviewing and counting cases of house loss that have caused people to have no housing; immediately starting to build new houses for people; repairing severely damaged houses, helping people settle down and make a living.
