On February 10, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held the 3rd consultation conference to select and make a list of people who meet the criteria for running for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, term 2026 - 2031.
The conference voted to approve the minutes and list of 48 people eligible to run for National Assembly deputies.
On the same day, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized the 3rd consultation conference to select and make a list of people who meet the standards to run for election as delegates of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031.
As a result, the conference discussed, selected and voted to approve the list of 209 people who meet the criteria for running for deputies of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Election Commission, the city has 13 electoral units for National Assembly deputies to elect 38 deputies and 42 electoral units for People's Council deputies of Ho Chi Minh City to elect 125 deputies.
Ho Chi Minh City will organize early elections for about 4,538 voters who are forces performing special tasks at sea, islands, oil and gas rigs, warships and DK1 rigs.
Early voting is expected to take place from February 26, 2026, 17 days earlier than the national election day (March 15, 2026), in four areas of Phuoc Thang ward, Tam Thang ward and Long Son commune.
