Proactively provide relief to people in storm No. 10
On October 3, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) - Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee held a conference to discuss contents related to the work of mobilizing, receiving, distributing and using voluntary contributions to support people affected by storm No. 10.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union said that the unit had asked for the opinion of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on the activities to be implemented.
In particular, it would like to ask for opinions on coordination with previously accompanied units, including the City Youth Social Work Team and the Young Artists Team. It is expected that on the evening of October 6, the unit will organize a propaganda program, spread the message and call on artists to join hands to contribute to support activities for the Northern and North Central provinces.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that hospitals will support medicine bags including 12 basic types of medicine such as fever reduction, pain reduction, anti- allergy, epidemic compensation - electrolytes... The unit will meet with hospitals to agree on a support plan and be ready to deploy when needed.
A representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City informed that for the recent storm No. 10, Ho Chi Minh City did not suffer any major damage. However, the City People's Committee has directed localities to organize inspections, surveys, and visits of cases affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, and heavy rain that caused fallen trees and damaged houses, and at the same time, mobilize forces to promptly overcome the consequences.
Launching support for people affected by storm No. 10
Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the unit has sent a document requesting the policy of the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to provide initial support to localities affected by storm No. 10.
Initial support proposals for Ha Tinh with 10 billion VND; Nghe An with 7 billion VND; Quang Tri with 5 billion VND; Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa provinces with 2 billion VND each. This is only a preliminary proposal; currently the unit continues to summarize the damage to submit a request for support policies to localities.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness of people's organizations, armed forces, and press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to that, the city's people have enough information, turning their interest into practical actions, sharing difficulties with people in areas heavily affected by the storm.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that today's meeting is considered an official call for and launch of the entire Ho Chi Minh City to participate in supporting, mobilizing, receiving, contributing, distributing and using resources to support people affected by storm No. 10 according to the provisions of law.
Support work needs to be implemented in 3 stages: response - overcoming - recovery. Each stage requires close, professional coordination and focus, key points to bring resources to the right place, the right people in need of help.
