On the afternoon of July 30, the Military Command (CHQS) of Lai Chau province coordinated with departments, branches and the government of Muong Than commune to hand over 7 resettlement houses to households who completely lost their homes in the flood that occurred on July 17.
These are the first houses completed in the resettlement area project for 24 households who lost their homes according to Decision No. 1517 of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee.
As the investor, the Lai Chau Provincial Military Command mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers along with vehicles and machinery to urgently deploy construction in San Bay village, Muong Than commune immediately after receiving the task.
The forward command headquarters is established at the construction site to directly direct and promptly handle arising difficulties, ensuring implementation progress.
In conditions of prolonged rain, complex terrain and large leveling volume, the construction force maintained continuous work day and night according to the rolling method.
Wherever the road is opened, the house foundation is leveled, framed, roofed and completed to soon move households to new residences.
According to the Lai Chau Provincial Military Command, the completion of the first houses is of great significance, helping families gradually stabilize their lives after natural disasters, and creating motivation to accelerate the construction progress of the remaining houses, striving to complete the entire resettlement area according to the plan.
At the handover ceremony, leaders of the Provincial Military Command, departments, branches, Viettel Lai Chau Branch and local Party committees and authorities visited and encouraged households to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Many households expressed emotion when receiving new houses after a short period of construction.
The completed houses not only help people have safe accommodation before the rainy and flood season but also show the spirit of responsibility, the joint efforts of the armed forces, authorities and units in disaster recovery in the area.
