On February 16, Tuyen Lam Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that it had just organized the presentation of gifts to the Ma Lieng people, Chut ethnic group in the area on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year.
This time, the commune awarded 619 gifts to 159 ethnic minority households in Cao, Ke and Chuoi villages; each person received 0.5 kg of pork.
The total implementation cost is more than 50 million VND, of which Agribank Tuyen Hoa supported 30 million VND, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune deducted 10 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund, and the rest was supported by organizations and individuals. Previously, the locality also mobilized socialized resources to give 224 gifts to the people of Ca Xen village.
At Ban Cao, Mr. Dinh Xuan Thuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Tuyen Lam Commune People's Committee emphasized that caring for Tet for ethnic minorities is an activity with profound humanistic meaning, showing the responsibility of the Party Committee and local government.
Commune leaders hope that people will celebrate Tet happily and safely; continue to preserve cultural identity, develop household economy, and join hands to build stable and sustainable villages.
In 2026, despite many difficulties, Tuyen Lam commune still prioritizes Tet care for people, continuing to mobilize socialized resources to ensure that every household has Tet, contributing to strengthening trust and promoting sustainable poverty reduction.
