On the afternoon of July 27, in Van An commune, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Vingroup Group organized a program to donate houses to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and seriously wounded soldiers in Nghe An province.
Attending the program were Ms. Ha Thi Nga - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Khac Than - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vu Chien Thang - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs along with representatives of agencies, units and people with meritorious services.
According to the program, 60 houses were awarded to 3 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and 57 seriously wounded soldiers of grade 1/4 in Nam Dan, Kim Lien, Van An, Dai Hue and Thien Nhan communes.
Each house is worth 700 million VND, equipped with essential items such as tables, chairs, beds, TVs and refrigerators. Depending on actual conditions, houses in the locality are expected to have an area of about 100m2, 2 to 3 floors high.
The program is implemented flexibly according to the needs of each family. In case Vietnamese Heroic Mothers or seriously wounded soldiers do not need to build a new house, the support value can be given in cash or equivalent savings books.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Ha Thi Nga said that the donation of houses is a practical social security activity, contributing to improving living conditions for people with meritorious services, and at the same time expressing the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude".
According to Ms. Ha Thi Nga, people with meritorious services and policy families have dedicated their youth and sacrificed their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Each house donated is not only a new place to live but also shows the joint efforts of the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, businesses and the community in caring for people with meritorious services.
Among those supported this time are Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ho Thi Tu, 98 years old and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Em, 88 years old.
Ms. Ha Thi Nga requested Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in Nghe An to continue to closely coordinate in the implementation process, ensuring that housing donation is carried out publicly, transparently, to the right beneficiaries and on schedule.
Representative of the Thien Tam Fund, Mr. Ly Minh Tuan, said that the program to donate houses and gratitude gifts will continue to be implemented nationwide, towards Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and seriously wounded soldiers ranked 1/4.
For Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the sponsoring unit prioritizes completing the donation before September 2, 2026. Gifts are transferred directly to accounts or savings books, ensuring safety and meeting actual needs.
For seriously wounded soldiers ranked 1/4, eligible cases can register to choose a form of support suitable to their family circumstances.
After Nghe An, the program continues to be implemented in provinces and cities, striving to be completed on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27, 2027.
