Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Agencies Ngo Van Cuong said that after more than a year of implementing the new organizational model, the system of affiliated publishing houses has basically stabilized its organization, maintained continuous operations, closely followed its principles and purposes, and completed the assigned political tasks. Many units proactively innovate management, promote digital transformation, improve the quality of publications and continue to affirm their important role in ideological and cultural work, contributing to spreading knowledge, developing reading culture and effectively serving the tasks of managing agencies.
According to Comrade Ngo Van Cuong, the Secretariat's issuance of Directive No. 04-CT/TW dated March 17, 2026 on strengthening the Party's leadership over publishing activities in the new situation is of great significance, this is not only a requirement to strengthen the Party's leadership over publishing activities, but also a direction to build a professional, humane, and modern Vietnamese publishing industry, meeting the requirements of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new development stage.
The core spirit of the Directive is to better promote the role of publishing in building the Party's ideological foundation, developing culture, spreading knowledge and enhancing the soft power of the nation. Therefore, implementing the Directive is not only the responsibility of publishers but also the responsibility of Party committees, governing bodies and the entire political system" - Comrade Ngo Van Cuong affirmed.
Comrade Ngo Van Cuong proposed that, in order to effectively implement the Directive in the coming time, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership of the Party Committee over publishing activities. The Party Committee and the head must directly lead and direct publishing activities; strictly implement the Party's regulations and the State's laws; attach importance to inspection, supervision, and prevention of violations right from the stages of selecting topics, editing, appraisal and publishing links.
Along with that, it is necessary to improve the quality of the team and the quality of publications. Each leading cadre and editor must constantly improve their political bravery, professional qualifications and professional ethics. At the same time, continue to promote digital transformation and innovate operating methods.
Comrade Ngo Van Cuong also suggested that the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and central mass organizations continue to play a good role in advising, guiding, monitoring and urging the implementation of the Directive. Managing agencies should pay more attention to the operations of publishers; publishers should strengthen experience sharing, coordination in digital transformation, human resource training and reading culture development, creating common strength for the entire system. Because the noble purpose of publishing is not only to create books, but also to contribute to building a foundation of knowledge, fostering culture and consolidating social trust.
Comrade Ngo Van Cuong wished that each Party Committee, each managing agency and each publishing house would soon concretize Directive No. 04 into a program, plan and practical actions; continue to innovate thinking, improve operational quality, maintain political bravery, promote social responsibility and constantly build the prestige of each publishing house.
