At 7:15 a.m. this morning, the IQAir Air Pollution Index Application ranked Hanoi as the 10th most polluted city in the world with an AQI of 169 - a red threshold, unhealthy for health.
At 7:00 a.m., 2 measuring points recorded air quality at the purple threshold, namely Dong Truc commune, Thach That district (now Ha Bang commune) AQI 223 and Quang Khanh AQI 206.
The locations with pollution index at the red threshold are Tu Hoa AQI 169, Tran Hung Dao AQI 158, Le Duan AQI 170.
The monitoring system of the Department of Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) at 7:00 a.m. also recorded many measuring points with AQI at a poor level such as 556 Nguyen Van Cu AQI 122, Hanoi University of Science and Technology gate on Giai Phong AQI122 road. With this index, sensitive people have health problems, normal people are less affected.
The measurement point at Thanh Xuan Park has an AQI 54 - Air quality is at an acceptable level. However, for sensitive people (the elderly, children, people with strong respiratory diseases...) they may suffer certain health impacts.

Faced with air pollution, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has just directed departments, branches and localities to implement urgent measures to control air pollution.
In particular, the Department of Education and Training is required to notify and instruct schools to limit outdoor activities for students during hours and days with air quality at "bad" level or higher.
In case the air quality is seriously polluted (VN_AQI ≥ 301), direct schools to temporarily suspend or adjust working and studying hours.
Experts recommend that when the air quality index reaches the hazardous level (AQI 301 500), people should minimize going out, temporarily stop outdoor activities and switch to indoor activities. Close your doors to avoid contact with pollution. For sensitive groups, the recommendation is even more strict: absolutely do not go out and ensure the indoor environment is airy and safe.
