Many items are in the sprint phase
According to Lao Dong on August 19, many construction teams are working hard along both banks of the river to repair and upgrade the embankment system, railings, and manholes to collect wastewater.

The prolonged rain in the morning caused some construction sites to temporarily stop. However, as soon as the sunset, the groups of workers immediately returned to the construction site, taking advantage of every hour to ensure progress.
At the embankment along To Lich River, located next to Nguyen Khang Street, workers are urgently repairing and refreshing the repaired locations with stone embankments.

In the Hoang Quoc Viet road area, the installation and connection of the water supply pipeline system from West Lake to To Lich River has been basically completed. The two pipelines, which are more than 1.5 km long, will provide a stable water source, maintain flow and improve water quality for the river.

Mr. Tran Van Tien, Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Infrastructure and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that this is a project of special significance on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. Therefore, the Board has mobilized maximum human resources and equipment, organized construction in 3 consecutive shifts to shorten the time.
One of the key items is the wastewater collection system from both banks to Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant. To date, 61/63 spillways have been connected, from Hoang Quoc Viet to Hoa Cac Bridge. In parallel, the stages of returning embankments, grass and clearing construction materials are also being implemented, expected to be completed before August 20.
As for the dam project, the project helps maintain water levels and create a flow rate of 96% of the volume. Contractors are focusing on human resources to complete the embankment and approach road, striving to complete all before August 25.

Since the beginning of August, Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant has also officially entered the trial operation phase after being granted an environmental license. The plant has a designed capacity of 270,000m3/day and night, is currently processing about 140,000m3/day and night and will increase to 180,000m3/day and night in the near future. With this scale, the entire amount of wastewater along the To Lich River will be collected and treated, opening up great opportunities to improve the river environment.
Towards a green space for the community
In addition to technical items, landscape renovation and environmental sanitation are also focused on. Along both sides of the river, garbage is collected regularly, degraded embankments are repaired, and lighting systems, resting chairs and walking paths are also being installed.
These utilities promise to turn To Lich into a friendly public space, where people can walk, relax and return to the river.

Previously, on August 1, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Document No. 4391/UBND-DT on environmental sanitation and improvement on both sides of the To Lich River. Accordingly, the city has synchronously implemented projects to collect, treat wastewater, supplement clean water, and improve the landscape.
The goal is not only to thoroughly handle the problem of pollution, but also to create a green space, contributing to improving the quality of life and towards sustainable urban development.
